Pineapple Log Cabin (Little Foot Paper Piecing method)

There are lots of different log cabin blocks – we love them all! The Pineapple block is a particularly special one. Try your hand at the Little Foot method of paper piecing. You work on top of the papers in this unique piecing method. The blocks take on a spiral look, and are very “happy” blocks. It’s tons of fun. It’s quick and easy! This is a perfect way to use up your scrap stash.

Friday, July 21 ................................9:30a-4pmDirector: ................................................... LouSWAN Admission:..................................... $25 Rating: ........................................................PGPackage of Little Foot Pineapple Papers is required script: $14.25

Rocky Mountain Bear ClawRocky Mountain Bear Claw, with its viscious claws, will take you back a few generations when quilt trends incorporated scrappy backgrounds and were pieced with repeating elements. The setting for the Bear Claw is unique in that the blocks are tilted in the layout, then sewn together by rotating the blocks around a 3-1/2” square. Spiky border units were designed to square up the quilt. Floating Points, Smart Corners, and Template Layout Sheets are featured in this design, bringing a classic Quiltworx pattern up to the current design standards that our customers have come to expect when they work with one of our patterns. Also, look for a coordinating Table Runner and Pillow set for this adorable quilt!

The Cut Loose Press Multiple Choice Placemats pattern, $3.75 is a required script.

The 4” Log Cabin Trim Tool, $12.99 is highly recommended.

This Techniques series provides an opportunity to learn paper piecing from the ground up! Whether you select the Glacier Star, Mariner’s Compass, Paradise in Blooms, or the new Vintage Rose, you will learn all the basics of Judy Niemeyer’s paper piecing process with the confidence at class end to tackle any of Judy’s spectacular quilt designs. These four patterns are taught exclusively by Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructors and are available through Certified Shops such as JanniLou Creations. Under the tutelage of Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor Shirley Scott, with the assistance of Cindy McEntee, you will create your very own quilt top.

By participating in this 7-session workshop with four pattern options, students have the advantage of seeing additional facets of paper piecing as well as those used in their own quilt. You come away with more knowledge to carry on to new projects. You decide whether to create a wall or queen sized quilt. Believe us!

These projects are more than doable!! You will be so proud of your accomplishments!

Machine Quilting PLUSIf you’ve had the opportunity to take a Machine Quilting I class and/or done a bit of machine quilting on your own, you may want to go a step further to enhance your MQ dexterity with this great exercise class. Pam encourages you to take MQI class because the more exposure to machine quilting you have, the better your work will be. You will work on gaining control of a desired pattern…and, as in MQI you will have a good day’s work in at the close of class.

JanniLou Creations’ Class Policy We’ve provided a lot of flexibility in the classes offered each term. In all cases, it’s to your advantage to commit to an entire class offering, but we understand all too well about busy schedules, so we try to include some “serial” offerings, too! We encourage early registration as space is limited in our class areas.

Our instructors have a strong commitment to making your class experiences positive learning and fun times. If a minimum number of students do not register, a class may be postponed or cancelled. Shop credit will be given. We basically have a no-cancel policy for most instruction.

At the same time, we ask a commitment from you. Please be prompt for class; times are posted

with the idea that the instructor can begin on time. It’s unfair to the instructor and to students who are prompt to be kept waiting. If your class begins at 9:30a, the Shop doors are open as early as 9:00a so you can set up.

Although verbal commitments are fine, payment must be made to secure your spot in class, and for you to receive supplies lists. We then give you the responsibility for having everything you need for a successful class adventure. You are automatically enrolled upon receipt of class fee (admission) unless notified otherwise.

If you are unable to attend a class, we are happy to issue a Shop credit IF we are notified at least FIVE DAYS PRIOR to Class. It’s important for the

instructors to have your commitment so they can be prepared for you and to insure sufficient training materials. To avoid forfeiture of your registration fee if the FIVE days’ notice cannot be met, you are welcome to send a friend as an ‘understudy.’ Bring basic sewing supplies: pins, needles, pencil (or pen), paper, thread, scissors, ruler, seam ripper — and filled bobbins. But please note: No children, babies, or guests in adult classes. Cell phones must be turned off! And please, do not wear fragrances to class. Many folks are very sensitive to fragrances.

Thanks for your cooperation and assistance in our serving you! – Lou & Crew
