DESCRIPTION
A web based system that is widely used for IT asset management, device deployment, and comprehensive server monitoring and network management in datacenters spread across different geo-locations. The revolutionary about eMagic is three click concept i.e. Build, Deploy and Manage. eMagic has auto discovery feature which helps customers to discover all devices and deploy them in rack in just two clicks. With three clicks concept, devices of multiple datacenters across multiple geo-locations can be managed easily. Support to Heterogeneous hypervisors for VM management makes it unique along with wide traditional features like IP SLA monitoring, netflow, alerts, reports and application monitoring. ITIL framework support for datacenter management like Change Management System, Incident Management System and Problem Management system are enterprise features of eMagic.

eMagic is an all-in-one solution to
manage all the aspects of data center.
It is an automated system designed to
make data center management easy,
efficient and quick. All the server logs
and consumption details can be
viewed through a GUI interface.
Now you can handle all aspects of
server management like trouble
shooting, bandwidth consumption
monitoring, OS installation and server
reboots with just a few clicks. eMagic
allows you to manage your entire data
center without contacting system
administrator or ESDS for support
services to cater to issues like Reboot,
Power on, KVMoIP, IP requests.
eMagic has been fully designed and
developed by the R&D Team at ESDS
after in-depth research and evaluation.
eMagic enables organizations to
automatically manage and monitor
data center and take corrective
actions if required. This significantly
eliminates chances of mismanagement
and errors thus saving overall costs and
efforts.
PHP 5.x or more
eMagic user interface has been
developed using PHP framework. It
has a secure directory structure.
Core files are hidden from public
access.
Database Server
MySql/ MsSQL / Oracle
eMagic can work with any of
MySQL, MSSQL, and Oracle
database server. It can be easily
switched to any database just by
changing the database
connection string. Queries used in
eMagic are active record queries
which are compatible with any of
the above databases.
Perl 5.8.2 or more
eMagic uses cron jobs for
monitoring and watchdog
purposes. All cron scripts are
developed in Perl to achieve
multithreading for fast execution of
data fetching job from hundreds of
servers. Generally frequency of
cron job is 1 min. eMagic also use
daemons for collecting traffic data.
A part of this daemon is developed
in Perl. Traffic data collection and
filtering also uses Perl scripts.

SNMP
eMagic supports SNMP version 1, 2
and 3. This makes it possible to add
any device/server in eMagic which
supports SNMP. SNMP is used for
getting bandwidth, performance
parameters and required device
information. SNMP is useful for fetching
the data and updating it in RRD file for
monitoring parameters like BW, RAM,
CPU usage, NW load etc.
RRDTool
There are many dependencies for
installing RRD tool. For more details

All monitoring graphs are generated
using RRD Tools. Cron jobs update RRD
file at the pre-scheduled frequency.
This process finally generates RRD file
graphs.
System Dashboard

deployment, ISP
bandwidth usage, subnet
report, logs, system alerts
etc.

Device Console
This module lets you directly access the
server console.
Device List
This module presents a list of all devices
in the eMagic system.
Different icons denote the type of
device. User can filter the device list by
hardware / deployment type.
Component Stock
It displays the hardware component
stock report for all type of hardware
including server, storage, network,
rack, cloud etc.
Users can select the device
type/hardware and its available status
(Free/Used) to display the report.
Users can search for a particular
component property in the report.
Netflow
Netflow function analyses the router
traffic and generates the different
types of reports
This includes reports on dashboard,
applications, IP and conversations.

routed on Routers functioning in
access mode.

eMagic keeps track of each activity
done by users while updating or
creating any parameter
It also maintains the IP from where the
user activity done. Admin user can
search for any activity using filters like
username, operation, IP, time span
etc.
Virtualization
eMagic supports virtualization
VMware, Hyper-V, eNlight platforms
where users can create and manage
virtual machines from eMagic.
Cloud discovery operation enables
system admin to cross check VMs on
the actual Cloud and VMs in the
eMagic and also displays if any host
or storage exits on the Cloud but not
in eMagic.
If any VM exists on the cloud but not it
eMagic, then it enables to import that
VM into eMagic.
