The Purple and Gold lost to Ithaca on the road, 76-68, and then fell to St. John Fisher at home, 53-67. CLEARY BACK ON TRACK After scoring a season-low seven points against Rutgers-Camden, Danielle Cleary ’18 got back on track last weekend as she scored 25 points against Ithaca College and 15 against St. John Fisher College. She now has posted eight games in double-digits, with three of those reaching 20 or more. Cleary is ranked sixth in the Empire 8 Confer- ence in points per game with 15.8. She is 2.0 points away from first place Amanda Off ’17 of Alfred University. ELMIRAS THREE-POINT SHOT The Purple and Gold have been very proficient from beyond the arc this season. The EC women have made 35.5 percent of their shots and share a tie for first in the Empire 8 Conference with Stevens In- stitute of Technology. ELMIRAS THREE-POINT DEFENSE Not only have the Soaring Eagles been shooting well from the three- point range, EC also ranks tied for second in the Empire 8 Confer- ence in three-point field goal percentage defense. Elmira is holding their opponents to just 27.3 percent of their shots. The Purple and Gold are just 0.25 percent behind conference leader St. John Fisher College. The Purple and Gold held the Cardinals last weekend to just 12.5 percent from beyond the arc. This is the second time this season that EC has held an opponent to under 13 percent. Last time OutElmira opened their Empire 8 Conference schedule last weekend against Ithaca College and St. John Fisher College on January 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The Purple and Gold lost to Ithaca on the road, 76-68, and then fell to St. John Fisher at home, 53-67.

eC BLOCking shOtsThe Soaring Eagles also find themselves ranked second in the Empire 8 Conference in blocked shots per contest with 3.00. EC is 1.13 blocked shots per game behind conference leader Stevens Institute of Technology. Leading the EC women in blocked shots per contest is Meghan Loya ’16 and and Danielle Cleary ’18 who sit fourth and fifth, repectively, with 0.9 and 0.8 per game, repectively.

BaLara’s DOuBLe-Digit streakSince Alex Balara ’15 returned to the court she has scored 10-plus points in every game. She now has a streak of five games scoring double-digits, the longest of her career. Prior to this season her longest double-digit streak was two games, which she had done six times in her career.

POChkar making a DifferenCeAgainst St. John Fisher College, Karli Pochkar ’16 scored eight points and took down nine rebounds. She is averaging 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest this season. She ranks 14th in the Empire 8 Conference in scoring and 11th in rebounds per game.

geisLer’s heLPing hanDKelsey Geisler ’15 dished out four assists against St. John Fisher College. She has upped her season total to 31 and is averaging a team-leading 3.4 assists per game. She ranks fourth in the Empire 8 Conference in assists per contest, just 0.7 away from first place McKaylee Croll ’15 of Alfred University. She also boasts an assist-to-turnover ratio of 0.9, which ranks her sixth in the Empire 8 Conference.

LOya CLeaning the BOarDsMeghan Loya ’16 took down a total of 20 rebounds against Ithaca College and St. John Fisher College last weekend. She is averaging 9.7 rebounds per contest to rank her third in the Empire 8 Conference. She is 1.7 rebounds per game away from first place Maisie Pipher ’16 of Houghton College.

CLeary frOm DOwntOwnDanielle Cleary ’18 ranks third in the Empire 8 Conference in both three-point field goal percentage and three-point field goals per game with 36.8 percent and 2.3, respectively. She is 3.6 percent away from first place Ve-ronica Peck ’16 of Nazareth College in three-point field goal percentage. She is also 0.4 three-point field goals per game away from first place Han-nah Manwaring ’17 of Houghton College.

aLL-time vs. aLfreDSince the 2001-02 season, the Purple and Gold hold a 17-9 record against Alfred University. The Soaring Eagles have also won the past four match-ups against the Saxons. In the 2013-14, season the EC women outscored Alfred by an average of 15.5 points in the two-game sweep.

sCOuting aLfreDThe Saxons of Alfred University enter tonight’s contest with a 3-7 overall record and a 0-2 mark inside the Empire 8 Conference. Alfred is coming off back-to-back losses to Empire 8 foes Stevens Institute of Technology and Hartwick College. The Saxons are led offensively by conference leader Amanda Off ’17 who averages 17.8 points per contest. Following Off is Har-ley Cleary ’15 who is also averaging double-digit scoring with 14.3 points per game. Off also leads the team in rebounding with 8.8 per game while Hailey Sick ’16 follows Off with 8.1 boards per contest. McKaylee Croll ’18 is setting up the offense for the Saxons as she is averaging 4.0 assists per game.
