TODAY’S MATCHWE WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME ALL THE
PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS OF TODAYS MATCHTO TERRACE ROAD, ELLISTOWN.
Manager’s Thoughts
TODAY WE WELCOME RATBY SPORTS TO THE NSG FOR OUR LAST HOME
GAME OF THE SEASON. THREE POINTS TODAY WILL GUARANTEE US 2ND
PLACE WHICH WILL BE A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT IN OUR FIRST SEASON IN
THE PREMIER DIVISION. LOOKING BACK WE HAVE DROPPED TO MANY SILLY
POINTS FROM WINNING POSITIONS, BUT WITH ROTHLEY BEATING ASHBY ON
TUESDAY NIGHT GIVING US A GLIMMER OF HOPE TO ACTUALLY WIN THE TITLE
BUT I FEEL 2ND PLACE IS THE BEST WE WILL GET THIS SEASON. WE FINISH
OUR CAMPAIGN AWAY AT BLABY ON MONDAY, THIS GAME COULD BECOME
IMPORTANT IF WE DON’T GAIN 3 POINTS TODAY WITH BLABY THE ONLY TEAM
THAT CAN
STOP US FINISHING IN THE TOP 2.
TUESDAY NIGHT SAW US LOSE TO OUR NEIGHBOURS LOUGHBOROUGH
DYNAMO IN THE SEMI FINAL OF THE CHARITY CUP 3-0. THIS SCORELINE
DIDN’T EMBARRASS US IN ANY WAY AND I WAS PROUD OF THE LADS THE WAY
WE PLAYED AGAINST A TEAM 3 LEAGUES HIGHER THAN US.
LASTLY I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR VALUABLE SUPPORT
THROUGHOUT THE SEASON, AND I HOPE THAT WE CAN GET THE THREE
POINT TODAY AND BRING SOME MORE SILVERWARE TO THE CLUB. IT IS A
SHAME THAT WE DON’T HAVE THE FACILITIES FOR US TO GET PROMOTED,
BUT IM SURE THROUGH THE CLOSE SEASON AND NEXT SEASON WE WILL BE
WORKING TOWARDS GET WHAT WE NEED TO PROGRESS.
KIND REGARDS

Round up week ending 16 April: Ashby guaranteed a top 2
finishBarlestone St Giles secured passage through to the Beacon Bitter Final, against Lutterworth Athletic on 17th May at Barrow Town, after an extra time win against Premier Division side Rothley Imps 2-1. Carl Adams gave the Imps the lead which was cancelled out by Shaun Robinson in the 2nd half to send the tie into extra time where Rob Farina hit the winner in the 1st period. With leaders Ashby Ivanhoe and FC Dynamo sitting out the week end, 3rd placed Blaby & Whetstone Athletic moved a point closer to possible EMCFL promotion with a 1-1 draw at Stapenhill after 2nd half goals from Matt Weightman, Stapenhill, and Jovan Maric, Blaby, cancelled each other out. To guarantee promotion to the EMCFL a team must finish in the top 2, Blaby can but Stapenhill now cannot. However, if a team finishes 3rd , and there is a place available after all other relegation and promotion issues have been settled, Blaby & Stapenhill both have the necessary ground grading to be promoted. Lutterworth Athletic maintained their chance of 3rd place with a 1-4 away win at Sileby Town after Richard Picton netted a brace. Steve Heads and Danny Laywood, from the penalty spot, completed the Athletic scoring and Tim Austin netted the 2nd half
