Comprised of three separately deeded parcels, the combined 243+ acres of Elk Meadows Ranch is a diverse blend of aspen groves,

Elk Meadows Ranch lends itself well to a host of potential uses given its size, location and features. Current ownership

had considered a cluster-style development comprised of individual parcels with shared access to common areas

The two premier high country lakes positioned at approximately 8,800 ft provide the ranch with some of the best stillwater trout fishing in the area. With the depth

necessary to provide suitable cover from predatory birds and an abundance of bug life, the resident rainbows grow to staggering sizes, ever-suspicious of prospecting

anglers. This is one of those treasured fisheries at which hooking a fish is one thing, but landing them is another story altogether. The lakes are teeming with biomass

including scuds and mysis shrimp ideal for trophy trout. Mid-summer when the vegetation surrounding the lakes and nearby area grow healthy and tall grasshoppers are

present in strong numbers. When the prevailing winds from the east push the hoppers onto the water surface a feeding frenzy soon follows.

These prolific lake fisheries are minimally managed currently with no supplement feeding, a testament to the health of the rich habitat. While the majority of the time

the resident rainbows seek refuge in the deeper portions of the lakes, hatching insects bring them to the surface for periods of water-churning feeding frenzies. Both lakes

have shallow benches on some of the edges which are easily reached by anglers on shore; during robust hatches and terrestrial activity big trout move in to these shallows

making for a fishing experience comparable to fishing saltwater flats.

Located in GMU 38, the aptly named Elk Meadows Ranch benefits from its inherent wildlife-friendly features,
