Welcome to Elk Grove Adult and Community Education (EGACE), a division of the Elk Grove Unified School Dis-

trict (EGUSD). EGACE has a 50 year history of providing adults with dynamic educational programs that lead to economic in-dependence and personal growth. EGACE is proud to hold a full accreditation status from the Western Association of Colleges and Schools (WASC), which is the same organization that ac-credits Sacramento State University and UC Davis.

To support our students in meeting their academic goals, we offer the following programs: High School Diploma, GED® and HiSET® Test Preparation, English as a Second Language, and U.S Citizenship preparation courses. At EGACE, students will improve their academic skills as well as the skills necessary to be successful in college, job training, and a career.

Our Career Training Institute offers training programs in the Allied Health Care field that lead to one or more industry-recognized certificates. Our technology education program includes introductory and refresher courses in keyboarding, Excel, Microsoft Word, and 10-key.

Our Always Learning community education programs include classes in computer basics; arts, crafts, and photography; business, legal, and money matters; personal growth; and a wide variety of special interest classes. We also offer short-term trainings that prepare individuals to enter the workforce in the customer service and custodial industries. We also coordinate with EGUSD to offer training to individuals who wish to enter into the education field as a paraeducator.

The South County Career Center, located on the EGACE campus, provides employment services, including job readiness workshops, resume writing, and job search, to youth (ages 18-24) and to adults.

Our teachers, support staff, and administrative team work together to ensure that our students gain reading, writing, math and technology skills; become college and career ready; and connect and contribute to family, school, workplace, and the larger community.

Thank you for taking this opportunity to learn more about our school and our programs.

“I used to spend so much time reacting and responding to everyone else that my life had no direc-tion. Other people’s lives, problems, and wants set the course for my life. Once I realized it was okay for me to think about and identify what I wanted, remarkable things began to take place in my life.”
