Other Accomplishments
I negotiated the contract that brought the FOX 8 (WJW) Akron News Bureau to the School of Communication at the University of Akron. An onsite news bureau served as a commitment to developing relationships with industry partners that is beneficial to the school and provides internship opportunities for students. In concert with others, I developed a Social Media Learning Lab at the University of Akron. The learning lab is a place for students to gain hands-on experience with emerging technology tools to learn to become responsible media content developers and adept and ethical information brokers. The instructional and research opportunities for students, faculty, and potential stakeholders is boundless. The development of a social media certificate was subsequently developed.
