Elevator Support Structures  

  

 Our standard elevator support structures have been completely designed using the latest 

state of the art finite element analysis software to ensure structural integrity and to gain maximum capacity. This allows us to offer very cost effective designs to the market. These designs are available in light, medium, heavy, and extra heavy capacities to cover a wide range of customers needs including catwalk, walk‐thru truss, stair supports and covers 16” through 48” triple row pulley systems. The allowable loading for the various lines of structures is listed in the detailed design information charts.  

 We  have  taken  great  care  in  the  details  of  the  product  to minimize  the  total  number  of 

different part variations so as to improve quality, cost effectiveness, and installation time. These designs are constructed of high quality mill certified structural steel and provided  in an all bolt together  configuration.  This  maximizes  durability  while  minimizing  shipping  costs  for  both domestic and international requirements.

Design Standards1.) Structures are designed in accordance with IBC 2009 Standards for a 90 mph 3-second peak gust with no ice and 50 mph w/1” ice; per ACSE 7-05, Exposure Category C, Importance Factor .87.2.) Ice is considered to increase in thickness with height.

3.) Structures are also designed to meet IBC 2012 Standards for a 105 mph 3-second peak gust with no ice and 50 mph with 1” ice; per ASCE 7-10, Exposure Category C, Risk Category I.4.) Special tower bracing may be required for catwalk/walk-thru truss support where applicable.
