2016-2017 Summary of Uniform Policy

Reminders

The school has transitioned to light blue polo shirts for boys and girls,

and light blue dress shirts for boys over the past three years.

o No white polo shirts or white boys dress shirts will be permitted for

the 2016-2017 school year. The warm weather uniform for girls is a navy blue skort with light blue

embroidered polo shirt.

o K-4 one panel skort (no more than 1 inch from the middle of the

knee)

o 5-8 two panel skort (no more than 1 inch from the middle of the

knee)

Sneakers must be white, black or gray (fourth year in effect) and

without distractions, for safety.

Please have your student’s last name labeled in uniforms, especially

in sweaters and sweatshirts.

Warm Weather Dress Uniform

Beginning of school to October 15th and April 15th to end of school

The warm weather uniform may be ordered from the uniform company, Flynn &

O’Hara. It is worn from the beginning of the school year through October 15th and from

April 15th through the end of the school year. Adjustments to the beginning and ending

date of the warm weather uniform may be made by the administration. The warm

weather uniform consists of the following:

Boys – Grades K-8

Shirts – Short sleeve light blue polo shirts with the embroidered Corpus Christi name.

Shirts must be neatly tucked in at all times. (These are identical for both boys and girls.)

White polo shirts are no longer permitted.

Shorts - Navy walking shorts. Shorts must be worn in the proper size and at the waist.

Belt - A black or brown leather belt is to be worn with the shorts.

Kindergarteners are exempt from the requirement of a belt.

Shoes - Shoes must be leather dress shoes in black or dark brown, with heels no higher

than one inch (no sneakers, tennis shoes, athletic style shoes, clogs, Sperry’s,

boots/hiking boots, moccasins, or slip-on canvas style shoes).

Socks - White crew socks that cover the ankles.

Girls - Grades K-8

Shirts – Short sleeve light blue polo shirts with the embroidered Corpus Christi name.

Shirts must be neatly tucked in at all times. (These are identical for both boys and girls.)

White polo shirts are no longer permitted.

Skort - Navy walking skort. Skorts must be worn in the proper size and at the waist, and

be no more than one inch from the middle of the knee.

Cold Weather Dress Uniform

October 15th through April 15th

The cold weather dress uniform may be ordered from the uniform company, Flynn &

O’Hara. It is worn from October 15th through April 15th. Adjustments to the beginning

and ending date of the warm weather uniform may be made by the administration.

The cold weather uniform consists of the following:

BOYS

Grades K-3 Boys

Pants - Pants must be dark navy twill. Pants must be worn in the proper size and at the

waist. No cargo pants.

Belt - A black or brown leather belt must be worn with all pants.

Kindergarten students are exempt from the belt requirement.

Polo Shirts - Light blue polo shirt, long or short sleeves, with the embroidered Corpus

Christi name. Shirts must be neatly tucked in. White polo shirts are no longer permitted.

Sweater (Optional) - Corpus Christi students have the option of wearing a

monogrammed navy blue V-neck long-sleeved sweater or V-neck sweater vest,

purchased from the uniform company. Both must be embroidered with the Corpus

Christi name.

Only the Corpus Christi embroidered sweater or vest may be worn. Sweatshirts are not

permitted with the cold weather dress uniform.

Socks - Dark navy socks that must cover the ankle.

Shoes - Shoes must be leather dress shoes in black or dark brown, with heels no higher

than one inch (no sneakers, tennis shoes, athletic style shoes, boots/hiking boots,

moccasins, Sperrys, suede shoes, or slip-on canvas style shoes).

Grades 4-8 Boys

must be neatly tucked in. White polo shirts are no longer permitted.

Ties - A specific uniform tie must be worn, blue with red, grey stripe, purchased only

from Flynn and O’Hara company.

Sweater (optional) - Corpus Christi students have the option of wearing a navy blue V-

neck long sleeve sweater or V-neck sweater vest, purchased from the uniform

company. Both must be embroidered with the Corpus Christi name.

Only the Corpus Christi embroidered sweater may be worn. Sweatshirts are not

permitted with the cold weather dress uniform.

Socks - Dark navy socks that must cover the ankle.

GIRLS

Grades K-5 Girls

Jumper - Regulation uniform jumper in drop waist style in dark navy plaid, purchased

from the uniform company.

Blouses - Peter Pan collared white blouse, long or short sleeve.

The white turtleneck is no longer permiteed.

Sweater (optional) - Corpus Christi students have the option of wearing a navy blue V-

neck cardigan or V-neck long sleeve sweater, purchased from the uniform company.

Both must be embroidered with the Corpus Christi name.

Only the Corpus Christi embroidered sweater may be worn. Sweatshirts are not

permitted with the cold weather dress uniform.

Socks - Dark navy knee high socks or dark navy cable knit or opaque tights must be

worn from October 15th through April 15th.

Shoes - Shoes must be leather dress shoes in black or dark brown, with heels no higher

than one inch (no clogs, sneakers, tennis shoes, athletic style shoes, boots/hiking boots,

moccasins, suede shoes, or slip-on canvas style shoes). See suggested shoe styles on the

website. For safety reasons, parents are advised to check that shoes are secure and do

not easily slip off.

Grades 6-8 Girls

Skirt - Regulation uniform dark navy plaid kilt, purchased from the uniform company.

Skirts may not be more than one inch above the middle of the knee.

Blouses - White only button down oxford blouse, long or short sleeve. Blouses must be

neatly tucked in.

Sweater (required) - Girls in grades 6-8 are required to wear an embroidered navy blue

V-neck cardigan, V-neck long sleeve sweater, or V-neck sweater vest, purchased from

the uniform company. Both must be embroidered with the Corpus Christi name.

Only the Corpus Christi embroidered sweater may be worn. Sweatshirts are not

permitted with the cold weather dress uniform.

Socks - Dark navy knee high socks or dark navy cable knit or opaque tights must be

PE Uniforms

The appropriate PE uniform must be worn for all PE classes. For safety reasons, only

students in the correct PE uniform may participate in PE.

All PE uniforms (sweatshirts and sweatpants, T-shirt and shorts) may be purchased from

the uniform company, Flynn & O’Hara. The PE uniform consists of the following:

Boys and Girls Grades K-8

PE T-shirt - Corpus Christi light blue T-shirt with logo (grades K-7), Grade eight wears navy

T-shirt with graduating class design; shirts must be neatly tucked in.

PE Sweatshirt - Corpus Christi sweatshirt must be worn over the PE T-shirt when the school

is following the cold weather uniform, October 15-April 15.

PE Shorts - Corpus Christi navy PE shorts with logo.

PE Sweatpants – Corpus Christi sweatpants with logo are to be worn in the proper size

and at the waist, over the PE shorts when the school is following the cold weather

uniform, October 15-April 15. Corpus Christi sweatpants should have elastic at the

bottom and be worn at the ankles.

Socks - White crew socks that cover the ankles.

Shoes – White, grey, or black athletic shoes must be worn. Heeley shoes may not be

worn at any time. For safety, athletic shoes must be without distractions, i.e. blinking

lights.

It is recommended that kindergarten students wear sneakers that fasten with Velcro

instead of shoelaces.

Each morning homeroom teachers conduct a uniform check to make sure that all

students are in the correct uniform.

In the event that the uniform attire does not meet the above criteria, the student will be

sent to the office to call his/her parent/guardian and a proper change of clothing must

be brought to the school for the student to change into prior to being admitted to class.

Minor uniform violations will result in a note home or uniform violation.
