Fall Training Schedule

Den Chief Training - Nov. 17: Required training for all Boy Scouts who would like to serve as DenChiefs for a Cub Scout Pack. Session will be held at Rowan Scout Resource Center, 693 RancocasRd., Westampton. Register by 11/13 (flyer).

BALOO - Nov. 19: BALOO is a one-day training event for Cub Scout leaders that introduces the skillsneeded to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. One adult per packmust complete BALOO training in order to apply for tour plans. Register. by 11/15.

Leave No Trace/Outdoor Ethics Trainer Course - Dec. 2-4The Leave No Trace Trainer Course prepares older Scouts, Venturers, and adult Scouters in allprograms to effectively develop their Outdoor Ethics using the principles of Leave No Trace, TreadLightly and the Land Ethic of Aldo Leopold. Who should attend: Staff for outdoor training coursesincluding BALOO and ITOLS/OWL; Summer and day camp staff; adult leaders and Scouts who teachoutdoor skills to Scouts including Pack, Troop, Team and Crew leaders. Paul Bunyan Day - Nov. 5It's not too late to participate! Walk-ins are welcome.Come out to the 42nd Annual Paul Bunyan Day at SmithvillePark, Eastampton. Sponsored by the Quakesen District, butopen to ALL Cub Scouts, the event offers two sessions:

9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Scouts will have the opportunity tocompete in a variety of fun events and activities such as Log Roll, Log Saw,Log Relay, Ox Chip Throw, and Nail Driving. Prizes will be awarded to the top scoring individuals ofeach Rank. Cost: $6 per scout (or friend eligible to join Scouting), parents are free. Register. Flyer.

White Horse District Klondike Derby Trails of The Yukon! Come out to Pine Hill Scout Reservation Jan. 28, 2017 andcompete in the Klondike Derby! Test your Scout Skills against other Scouts in oneof our 10 rough and tumble Klondike Towns. From rope skills (to keep it together),map & compass skills (to get where you're goin'), and most certainly on a perilousjourney such as this, your best first aid skills (to bandage all the mishaps with

The YES (Youth Empowerment Services) Shelter is part of the Center forFamily Services, and the Shelter houses 16 to 20 boys, ages 11 to 17. Some boyscome into the shelter with only the clothes on their back, and many have neverreceived holiday presents. We invite your unit to collect Gift Cards and newitems to be given as presents such as: socks, gloves, t-shirts, scarves, earmuffs, underclothes,shoes, stationery, hooded sweat-shirts, duffle bags, games and toys. Plan Now for Scouting Anniversary WeekIn 2017 Scout Sunday will be on Feb. 5 and Scout Sabbath on Feb. 11. Now is the time to startplanning these events for your unit with a neighboring house of worship. Consider also having afellowship event which follows, like a Pancake Breakfast or a Scout Skills Presentation for thecongregation. 2017 National Jamboree July 19-28 Countdown to 2017 Jamboree (258 days to go)

GSC Patch #1: The first patch for Scouts and Scouters

attending the 2017 National Boy Scout Jamboree from Garden

State Council is here! It's a jacket patch, containing variations

of past council shoulder patches (CSPs) featuring the Jersey Devil. Soon, a

similar set of patches will be available utilizing the same designs, but sold as

a set of seven patches (a center patch plus six separate CSPs). The patches are available for $20

from the two Council Scout Stores or from anyone attending the Jamboree. Click here to see prior

editions of the Countdown to 2017 Jamboree.

IMPORTANT: Time is running out to register for the 2017 National Scout Jamboree at the SummitBechtel Family National Scout Reserve, West Virginia.
