Working Solutions Inc. has introduced a new product, Solustrip 5285, that removes most paints yet contains no phenols, acids, chlorinated solvents, or heavy metals. Solustrip 5285 is heated (100 to 175°F) and parts are immersed until the coating dissolves. Safe on most metals, 5285 is formulated to be worker safe and envi- ronmentally friendly.

Electrolytic Stripping of Stainless Steel MacDermid Inc. Waterbury, Conn.
MacDermid’s Metex SS-10 is designed to remove a variety of plated metals from stainless steel rack tips. This solution is made up of highly conductive electro- lytes, which oxidize and remove metals rapidly from the substrate. The solution will reach a certain level of dissolved metal, which will vary depending upon the concentration of the substrate protector, and then hold no more metal. Metex SS-10 is a mildly acidic (pH 6.0 to 6.5) solution with built-in rate enhancers and base metal protectors. All stripped metals sludge-out and are easily removed. The solution never becomes saturated and never requires dumping.
