Cabinet Blast System with Plastic Media Maxi-Blast Inc. South Bend, Ind. Maxi-Blast IX’S Pressure Dry Hone System utilizes non- toxic, environmentally safe plastic media for a variety of stripping and depainting applications and offers a cabinet-style blast system specifically designed for paint and powder coat- ing removal with plastic blast media. The system is simple to use. The operator loads parts into the cabinet and directs a high-velocity stream of plastic media onto the parts. Paint and powder coatings are quickly removed without damaging un- derlying substrates. The reusable media is automatically sep- arated from dust and contaminants, then recycled. Tbe system is available in a variety of sizes, with options to suit your specific requirement. MacDermid’s Metex SS-10 is designed to remove a variety of plated metals from stainless steel rack tips. This solution is made up of highly conductive electro- lytes, which oxidize and remove metals rapidly from the substrate. The solution will reach a certain level of dissolved metal, which will vary depending upon the concentration of the substrate protector, and then hold no more metal. Metex SS-10 is a mildly acidic (pH 6.0 to 6.5) solution with built-in rate enhancers and base metal protectors. All stripped metals sludge-out and are easily removed. The solution never becomes saturated and never requires dumping. Circle 117 on reader information card 26 METAL FINISHING . JULY 1996
