Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy Study and characterization of degradation modes in electrochemical energy conversion systems using EIS
Our Capabilities • Sophisticated modeling techniques are available to simulate and
interpret the experimental data for degradation analysis
• Software available: ZView 3.2 C, COMSOL Multiphysics 4.0, MATLAB, Mathematica.
• Mathematical modeling of EIS data is used to simulate the DC polarization curve and quantify different losses affecting the system performance.
Overview Failure modes and mechanisms in electrochemical energy conversion systems include those related to thermal, chemical or mechanical issues that constrain stability, power, and lifetime. EIS is a powerful in-situ diagnostic method to better understand and characterize the irreversible changes in the chemical and/or transport properties of the system during operation.
