Greetings from HOD. Proper communication plays a vital role in the develop-ment of a department. This newsletter will serve to reinforce and allow in-creased awareness, improved interaction and integration among all of us. It would be a snapshot of the various activities and advancements of EEE de-partment in the last two months.

With immense pleasure and joy I would like to congratulate the final year students who got placed so far in various companies during the placement drive coordinated by Dr. Justin Sunil Dhas, Prof. EEE Department. I take this opportunity to introduce the two day workshop on SOLAR PHOTO VOLTAIC SYSTEM DESIGN WORKSHOP (SOORYAGRAMAM PROJECT) jointly organizing by IEEE, SB VJEC in association with National Skill India Mission at VJEC cam-pus. In addition to that we ,the EEE department has organized another na-tional workshop on ‘Current Trends in Smart Grid Management’ in associa-tion with ABB on 5th October. I wish all the success to the workshops. May the Almighty showers his blessings upon Mr. Nikhil Valsan K., who has been here for last three and half years and moved on to Canada as a part of his career.

STAFF ACTIVITIES Mr. Arun C. Kurian attended two FDP on Business Economics at KTU Office Tri-

vandrum on August 12th and at CUSAT Ernakulam on 5-6th September.

Ms. Indulekha K.M. organized a one day national workshop in ‘Patenting In En-gineering’ on 12th August 2016 by Mr Radhakrishnan Rajasekhar (Lead IP Ana-lyst, Honeywell Technology Solutions, Banglore)

Mr. Sarin C. R. conducted a semester long program on Programmable Logic De-vices’ for M.Tech students on August 18th.

Mr. Sarin C. R., & Mr. Jithin K. Jose conducted a one day workshop on Design and Development of Autonomous Robot using ARDUINO on 26/8/2016 at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology at Coimbatore.

Mr. Prabin James organized a Guest lecture on ‘ Different types of Power Con-trollers with Different Techniques’ handled by Dr. P.C. Thomas, HOD EEE, Amal Jyothi Engineering College for M.Tech students on 31st August

Mr. Ginnes K. John, (AP EEE Rajagiri College of Engineering) had delivered a guest lecture on ‘ Renewable Energy System with Grid Technology Design Con-cept’ on 6th September for M.Tech students and it is coordinated by Mr. Prabin James.
