Gas Sales:25 to 1000 HP
Gaslift:75 to 250 HP

Gas Engines Predominant – Electric Driven Compressors a RarityWhy?Fuel Gas Readily Available- Makes for quick startup- Little time to plan power lines
Rental compression with engine only fleets utilized by most all E&P Companies despite disadvantages of:- Air Permitting- Emission Control Testing- Emission Equipment Maintenance- Noise
Most E&P Companies lack engineering staff to tackle electric infrastructure issues
EOG_Master-4
Typical Electric Driven Compressor Installations- Usually done when infrastructure construction is minimal (lower cost and quicker timing)
- Older compressors converted from gas engine drive very common
- Rental companies usually require long term rental contracts that essentially buy the compressor
- Rental fees not lowered commensurate with the lowered package cost (motors far cheaper than engines)
-Rental fees not lowered commensurate with the lower maintenance costs

What is changing to make electric driven compressors more common?
Technology:• Variable Frequency Drives more cost effective
• No inrush current allows existing electric infrastructure to support load
• Speed control capabilities allow far greater turndown than turbo-charged engines allow (50% vs 25%)

What is changing to make electric driven compressors more common?
Regulations:• Noise levels with engines often require expensive sound walls or buildings to mitigate. Electric compressors are quieter.
• Air regulations require new engines to meet low emission standards even at low horsepower, elevating their cost and decreasing their reliability

What is changing to make electric driven compressors more common?
Availability:• Some rental companies willing to build electric driven packages with short term (1 year) contracts
• New products being offered to serve the wellhead, such as the new Cameron Ajax C-202
