ELECTROSTIMULATIONThe electrostimulation is a technique that brings about the contraction of a muscle in a similar way to the voluntary one, by using electrical impulses that act on motor points (motoneurons) or nerve endings (TENS impulses). Our electrostimulators include a wide range of currents and treatments:

EMS: also known as neuromuscular electri-cal stimulation (NMES) or electromyostim-ulation, this is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses.

TENS: the transcutaneous electrostimulation is used to reduce most of the articular or muscle pains, but also to treat pain of endogenous origin as they have little side effects compared with traditional pharmacotherapy. It can be conventional, modulated, endorphinic. The waveform can be monophasic, symmetrical bipha-sic, asymmetrical biphasic.

Interferential: this is a sinusoidal current alternated to medium frequencies, modulated in amplitude, with a high ability to pene-trate tissues and an optimal tolerability.

Microcurrents: also called MENS or MCR. They use less intense current for therapy than conventional electrostimulation. It permits to relieve acute and chronic pain, it accelerates regeneration of damaged tissues.

Denervated: the stimulation of a dener-vated muscle differs from the one of a healthy muscle for the fact that the activation of muscular fibers needs particular currents.

Kotz: also called Russian currents. They are indicated for treat-ment of muscle hypertrophy, to increase muscle mass and to treat idiopathic scoliosis.

Incontinence: our currents permit to treat the three different kinds of incontinence (urge, stress, mixed).

Ionophoresis: it uses the continuous elec-tric current generating the displacement of charged particles through tissues.

Diagnostics: TIC calculation. This permits to calculate the time-intensity curve to create ad-hoc programs for the denervat-ed muscles.

MULTI USERThis function makes the use of the electrostimulator easier, as it permits to store the personal settings of different users in the same device.

The Diathermy with capacitive and resistive energy transfer (also called T.E.CA.R. Therapy) is an innovative therapy used in the physiotherapy and rehabili-tation fields to heal traumas and pathologies of the musculoskel-etal system.The capacitive-resistive Dia-thermy is a thermotherapy, which is a method that produces heat from the inside of body tis-sues for therapeutic purposes. It is defined as an endogenous therapy because the heat is not irradiated from outside, but it is generated directly from inside the tissues through the applica-tion of a variable high-frequency electric field.The capacitive-resistive Dia-thermy, by means of handpieces or electrodes, brings energy di-rectly to the treated part where the therapeutic effect is needed. This therapy can be used in two different modes, namely the ca-pacitive mode and the resistive mode.Depending on the chosen mode, the energy transfer and the bio-logic effects will be completely different.The capacitive mode acts on soft tissues (skin, connective tissue, circulatory and lymphat-ic systems, muscles), while the resistive mode concentrates its effects on the tissues with have greater resistance to the passage of electric charges (bone tissue, cartilage, tendons, ligaments). Ultrasound therapy is used in rehabilitation and physiotherapy both for its deep thermal effects and for non-thermal and anti-inflammatory effects. Ultrasound waves are made of high-frequency sound waves emitted by a medical device and applied on the tissue to treat by means of a handpiece. Ultrasound therapy offers a mechanical stimulation to enhance the healing of the damaged tissues of muscles, tendons, joint capsules, ligaments and bones. The therapeutic effects of ultrasound therapy include the increase in cell metabolism and enzymatic activity, the increase in circulation, the increase in elasticity and visco-elastic tissue properties and the decrease in pain sensation. The thermal effect of therapeutic ultrasounds increases tissue temperature and consequently improves blood flow, thus producing greater nourishment and more oxygen for the damaged tissue.This can be used to treat some injuries or chronic conditions of soft tissues. The non-thermal biological effects of ultrasound therapy include acceleration of healing, improvement of the regeneration and reparation of soft tissues, increased synthesis of cell proteins, edema reduction, a better bone reparation and less muscle spasm and pain. The thermal effects of therapeutic ultrasounds include all non-thermal effects as well as an increase in joint mobility, collagen elasticity, a reduction in muscle contractures, tendon tissue reparation, the resolution of chronic inflammatory processes and the reduction in scar tissue.

Lasertherapy is a rehabilitation and therapeutic modality that uses the laser light to enhance the body’s healing processes. It is painless and non-invasive and it can be used to accelerate skin wound healing and to treat all the musculoskeletal diseas-es with pain, inflammation and edema. The laser light caus-es biological effects at tissue and cell level that are used for therapeutic purposes. The main therapeutic effects of the laser light used in physiotherapy and rehabilitation are anti-inflam-matory, analgesic, anti-edema and biostimulating. The an-algesic effect of lasertherapy is created by a combination of factors. It affects pain stimulus conduction, reduces tissue in-flammation, muscle spasm and edema and causes a washout of the pro-inflammatory markers present in the damaged tissue. The anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effect are created by the local modulation of bio-chemical markers, a different tissue distribution of inflamma-tory cells, the reduction in the edema, the hemorrhage and the necrosis formation and by the inhibition of pro-inflammatory molecules production. The bio-stimulating activity contributes to the reparation and the heal-ing of tissues due to increased supply of oxygen and nutrients, to the modulation of cell pro-liferation and differentiation, as well as to the activation of cellular functions, modulation of synthesis and organization of the extracellular matrix proteins.
