Why choose OCR Entry Level English?

Our Entry Level Certificate in English qualification will sit with the new GCSEs in English and English Language, enabling us to offer a coherent package for you and your learners.

A carefully considered course We understand that learners for this qualification may come from a diverse range of learning environments. With this in mind, our English Entry Level qualification has been designed to be as flexible as possible. There are three areas of assessment. The Reading task is set by us while the tasks for Speaking and Listening and for Writing are set by teachers with detailed guidance from us. All the elements are marked by teachers.

Accessible and relevant The course has been created to enable progress at your learners’ pace, the aim being that they can develop their skills and knowledge and be put forward for the assessment when they are ready. It is designed to be accessible and relevant and provide learners with recognition for their achievements.

Straightforward progression routes Our Entry Level Certificate in English can build confidence and be the gateway to further qualifications. It is directly linked to the new GCSEs in English and English Language and would allow for a natural progression to a higher level of study.
