Although this book is full of details, for us there is much more than just information between its covers. These pages contain representations of our goals, our dreams, and our long-term commitment to producing the finest snowboard products in the world. They hold evidence of our hard work, our dedication, and our achievements in our chosen field, the development of advanced snowboard technology and construction. The 2014 Elan Freestyle collection represents our commitment to the progression of freestyle snowboarding through technical innovation that leads to superior snowboards. For 2014 we have introduced new materials and designs as well as refined and redeveloped the existing technologies behind our freestyle boards. The result is the ultra high level of technical performance that our 2014 Freestyle collection delivers. From our groundbreaking contact profile ChromoTech, to the incredible lightweight of our DG Top technology, these boards feature real advancements with real on-snow results. How do we know that working to make superior freestyle boards is enhancing freestyle progression? Completely redesigned for 2014 with Asymmetrical Omega Sidecut, the Inverse delivers a heavy punch of freestyle performance in an ultra light package. To be able to produce the Inverse to be one of the lightest snowboards in the world, without sacrificing responsiveness or durability, we use innovation and our high tech production capabilities. Instead of depending on inferior core substitutes to reduce weight, the combined development of both DG top and carbon 360 technologies create a solution that allows the Inverse to be built using our Transfer Wood Core while remaining light as a feather. The Elan All Mountain Collection epitomizes the essence of our snowboarding passion. ChromoTech represents the absolute cutting edge of contact profile design. Most Contact profiles, including traditional cambers and rockers, have a two dimensional linear curve. The creation of Chromo Tech breaks through the 2D barrier, incorporating 4 main design features that work in unison to create on-snow 3D performance unlike any that has existed before. To dissect and examine this dynamic technology we start in the tip and tail. Here a continuous curved Rocker Shape lifts the entire edge of the tip and tail resulting in increased floatation and catch free performance. Further enhancing the tip and tail performance we apply Omega Sidecut, maximizing ChromoTech’s catch free aspect and providing faster edge-to-edge response. Next we increase the board’s Sidecut Radius for precision turning and overall improved freestyle focused control. And last but not least we add Traditional Camber to provide unrivaled power, pop and response. The result is ChromoTech, a special mixture of design ingredients that delivers the loose catch free jib focused performance of rocker, with the responsive stability of camber, in a totally dynamic contact profile that performs so well it has to be ridden to be truly understood.

The APS baseplate allows for maximum customization for absolute fit, and foot positioning on the center of the board. The combination of the ALU healcup and reinforced polyamive baseplate provides high performance, support, and comfort.
The APS high back is designed to deliver prescision performance and maximum edge control. We have straightened and heightened the high back profile increasing the transfer of energy from the rider’s calf to the edge of the board. High back rotation and tool-free forward lean adjustment offer full adjustability.
Ultimate freestyle performance is delivered through a comfortable and supportive elliptical strap construction.
Stitch and Turn strap provide maximum comfort by dramatically decreasing strap pressure at the edge of the strap.

LACE SMART™ is our new user-friendly quick lace system allowing fast tightening / releasing and easy in and out of our Vector boot. This system optimizes rider comfort and performance with a focus on simplicity and effectiveness. Tightening is as easy as pulling the lace up and onto the side in the locked position and the releasemechanism is easy to use with the effective push up locker. Click the locker and the laces release. Tension the lace and Click - the laces are locked.
The Grip out sole provides steady footing in all conditions.
Speed hooks add conveiniance and quickness to conventional lacing systems. Speedhooks are made from lightweight tough material for strenght and wieght reduction.
The Secure Toe Fit improves fit in the toe area of the boot. When the liner is tightened, the toe area material provides solid support around the toes. This creates improved efficiency on heel to toe edge turns.
Back Reinforcement with lace hooks allows you tighten inner liner and gives you perfect fitting with full support while riding.
A Tongue Pull Strap is directly fixed to the upper tongue. When the strap is pulled, the tongue releases the lacing giving your foot free entrance or exit to the boot.
Created to follow the shape of the area around the ankle, two latex Ajax bars are integrated into the liner. The material is formed anatomically, and ensures perfect fit – thus reducing foot movement inside the liner.
Power strap is located on the outer boot and is designed to enhance fit. Using the power straps further tightens the boot, providing an efficient transfer of energy from the leg to the boot and then to the snowboard edge.
Extra padded top interior of the Liner allows you smooth sliding in to the boot and keeps your feet warm.
This reinforcement of the rear portion of the boot is not visible from the outside, but its contribution can be felt. The Back Lay Support is made using a seamless 3D inserts that improves durability and provides support, and shaped for optimum flex and the reduction of pressure points.
The Fifty – Fifty outer shell of the boot is designed using two separate pieces of material in the ankle area. The benefit of this feature is that when the boot is flexing forward the two pieces slide smoothly improving flex and eliminating the spreading of the boot in the tongue region.
The EVA shock absorption material layer enhances impact absorption and vibration dampening while providing superior traction and steady footing in even the iciest conditions.
By using two different types of material to create the ankle area of the boot, we have created a Flex Window that allows the boot to flex in the most natural way. Soft material is used in the joint area to increase flex and improve mobility where we want the boot to flex, resulting in undisrupted support and comfort without pressure points.
Our Soft Back Cuff made from plush material eliminates all pressure points from the back lay support of our boots and dramatically increases comfort.
