El tema de tesis se refiere al problema que se desea resolver yque se propone hacer (tcnicase requiere definir:

a usar para resolverlo). Esto es,

Qu se desea resolver? ProblemaCon que se pretende resolver?Tcnica

Toda investigacin inicia con un tema, por ello es crucial sudefinicin en la investigacin.

Requisito para el problema: Debe presentar inters por algn sector empresarial,

gubernamental, social etc. (importancia).Debe tener alguna relacin con el rea, sea por el problemao por la tcnica.

Requisito para la tcnica:La tcnica debe corresponder al rea de las TICs (ingeniera

de sistemas, informtica, computacin, etc.)

Ejemplo:Problema: Predecir la morosidad en micro-crdito

Este problema es de inters para el sistema financiero como losbancos y las cajas de ahorro, pues todos ellos presentan esteproblema. Adems las estadsticas muestran una morosidad del

5.2% a marzo del 2012 (Superintendencia de Banca y Seguro -SBS). Tambin es de inters para el gobierno pues lasconsecuencias del problema pueden ser de orden social.

Por otro lado, a pesar que es un problema del rea financiera,es vlido el problema para una tesis en el rea de las TICsiempre que se use alguna tcnica de esta rea para resolverlo.En efecto, una de la tcnicas para resolver este problemacorresponde a softcomputing (redes neuronales, redesbayesianas, SVM, redes neurodifusas, etc.)

La definicin del tema corresponde ade conocimiento sobre el problema yun proceso de adquisicinla tcnica.Al inicio de la investigacin podemos tener dudas sobre elproblema y la tcnica a usar para resolverlo:

Problema, al inicio podra no estar del todo claro: querestricciones tiene el problema?, cul es el escenarioconsiderado?, qu fin tiene resolver el problema?, etc.

Tcnica, al inicio podramos no saber cual es la mejor tcnicaa usar.

La definicin del problema y la tcnica se va ir esclareciendo amedida que se conozca ms. Por ello la precisin del problema(su definicin y sus delimitaciones) y de la tcnica a usar sernpropiamente definidos cuando terminemos la fase del estado

del arte.

g Secuencia de generacin de conocimiento

1. El investigador redacta los resultados de su investigacin siguiendo los estndar deuna publicacin cientfica, pero sin un lmite de pginas, ni un formato establecido,

pero con muchos detalles. Este documento es denominado technical report y en

general es publicado en el Departamento al cual pertenece el investigador.

El investigador escribe un paper para un congreso (symposium) a partir del

technical report. El paper deber respetar el formato y la poltica del congreso.El investigador expone su trabajo (paper) ante el congreso.

Los papers aceptado al congreso son compilados y forman la llamada actas del

congreso (proceeding).

El investigador mejora su paper del congreso agregando algunos detalles del

technical report y redacta un paper para un Journal, siguiendo el formato y lapoltica del Journal.

Si el paper es aceptado (no tiene observaciones) entonces es publicado en el Journal.

Cuando existen mucho conocimiento sobre un tema, en general el editor invita a un

investigador destacado en el tema a publicar un libro.
