Esto se deba a que Hameln estaba dirigido por una Reina muy tacaa, que no quera hacer ningn gasto para poner remedio a la invasin de ratones.This was caused by a very stingy Queen that guided Hameln, that did not want any expense to remedy the mice's invasion.

La Reina, cuando vio que los ratones haban llegado a su palacio, mand llamar a un jovencito que tena fama de hacer desaparecer los roedores con ayuda de su flauta.The queen, when she saw that mice had gotten to her palace, sent for a young fellow that had the reputation of making the rodents disappear with help of his flute.

El flautista, despus de haber dejado a Hameln sin ningn ratn, fue con la Reina para recibir su recompensa. Pero la Reina, que era muy codiciosa, no quiso cumplir con su promesa.The piper, after having left Hameln without any mice, went to the queen to receive his reward. But the queen, who was very greedy, did not want to live up to her promise.

Entonces hizo sonar la flauta y todos los nios del pueblo lo siguieron, escuchando su sonido.Then he sounded the flute and all children of the town followed him, listening to his sound.

Se los llev a una montaa y los encerr en una gran cueva, desconocida por todo el mundo. As se veng de aquella reina tan mentirosa y malvado.He took them to a mountain and he locked them in a great cave, hidden to all the world. That way he had revenge on that deceptive and evil queen.

Pasaron varios meses y Hameln se transform en un pueblo triste, sin las risas y la alegra de los nios; hasta las flores tenan el color plido de tanta tristeza.Several months went by and Hameln turned into a sad town, without laughs and the joy of the children; until the flowers had the pale color of so much sadness.

Todos los padres de los nios marcharon juntos al castillo para reclamarle a la Reina, pidindole que pagara al flautista la deuda, porque no queran quedarse sin sus amados hijos.All the parents of the children went together to the castle to complain to the Queen, requesting that she pay the piper the debt, because they didn't want to be left without their dear children.

La Reina no tuvo ms remedio que pagar al flautista, y entonces todos los nios regresaron a sus hogares, trayendo con ellos nuevamente la felicidad al reino.The queen did not have more remedy than to pay the piper, and then all the children returned to their homes, bringing with them the happiness again to the kingdom.

Desde ese momento, aquella Reina cumpli siempre sus promesas.From that moment, that queen always fulfilled her promises.
