EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology)
The EIT aims to increase the cooperation and integration between education, business and research to facilitate the transition from:
The EIT is the first EU initiative bringing together the three sidesof the “knowledge triangle”: Business (companies and SMEs),Higher Education Institutions and Research Centres.
The EIT is an EU body that enhances Europe’s ability to innovateby nurturing young entrepreneurial talent and supporting newideas through the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).

How does it work?
• Only partners can get money for the projects.
• To become partners, you have to pay a fee:
• Core partner : 100K euros per year
• Associate partner: 60K euros per year
• Task partner: no fee but limited amount of money
• Yearly call for projects submission
• Upscaling
• Education
• Internationalisation
• Projects are evaluated by external experts
• Selection is made and EIT gives the budget
• Yearly reviewed

• RawMATCop
• funded by DG GROW and EIT RM
• Project is exploring how Earth Observation and Sentinel data from the Copernicus programme can be applied to the raw materials sector.
• This is carried out in three different post-doctoral research projects with exploitation of the results disseminated in a training progamme for other researchers.
A Specific programme
17
• Career fairs
• Careers Fair in Tallinn, Estonia on 15 November 2017. Over 900young people participated in workshops, heard careers talks andsaw 21 company exhibitions about job activities in RawMaterialsas well as meet 78 local and international companies
• RawMaterials University Days is an initiative formerly coordinatedand organised by the EC and since 2017, is organised by the EITRawMaterials. RMUD is a one-day event to raise awareness, encourage young people to study a raw materials-related discipline, and promote skills and employment in the sector.
• In 2017 RMUD was organised at 5 partner universities andattracted 2000+ high school and university students acrossEurope
