EGGER AS A FULL-RANGE SUPPLIER: INNOVATIONS FOR THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY Wood-based material manufacturer updates Industry Collection and presents full range of products and services for the furniture industry at a glance

The updated Industry Collection from EGGER features new decors and textures. It is tailored to the specific needs of customers in the furniture industry and, effective at the beginning of November, once again available as a visually appealing decor book. In addition, EGGER is premiering the “Products 2009-2010” brochure. EGGER is thereby positioning itself as an international full-range supplier, offering a fully coordinated product spectrum to its customers – from trend-conforming decors to coreboards and accessories. In particular, the brochure also includes innovations such as compact laminate, laminated Eurodekor thin chipboard and the expanded acoustic line. A new version of the product brochure will be published each year in keeping with the collection.

The updated Industry collection includes a total of 28 new decors – 18 Eurodekor decors and 10 laminates. “We are committed to trend-conforming decors and surfaces. The range was significantly expanded with the decors that emerged as favourites at our EGGERZUM in-house exhibition in the spring of 2009,” explains Klaus Monhoff, Head of Decor Management for the EGGER Group. The collection is also taking a fresh direction with the new gloss texture ST30 Gloss-Finish. “Our team constantly monitors various trends around the world that have an impact on the furniture industry. This results in decors and products in keeping with global tastes that also meet regional requirements,” is how Klaus Monhoff, Head of Decor Management for the EGGER Group, describes the Europe-wide trend scouting process.

TEXTURE MEETS COLOUR The colour choices for decors in particular are subject to fast-moving trends. At the moment, metallic shades and wood with colourful accents are gaining popularity alongside the ongoing grey trend. The quartz decors, which highlight the various textures with pearlescent shimmer, are an important part of the new Industry Collection: Quartz Glass, Quartz Blackberry, Quartz Copper and Quartz Forest.

Grey-Brown Ontario Walnut, Driftwood and Natural Tauern Beech emerged as the audience favourites among the woodgrains after the EGGERZUM in-house exhibition held in various EGGER plants across Europe each spring. Especially the Avola Pine decor series with a total of 4 colour variations quickly proved to be an absolute trendsetter. Of course they are also part of the 2009-2010 Industry Collection. The current grey trend is also apparent among the woodgrains: this is why Grey Wild Oak and Grey and Black Cortina Oak are new additions to the collection. Among the worktop decors, the Dakota Oak decor in light grey and brown makes a strong

impression with its high proportion of sapwood. Tin Grey and Slate Grey have been added to the uni colours. But grey is also creating accents in worktop decors. Here the new additions appear rather reserved and elegant but not, as in earlier years, extremely lively.

The new laminate decors in the Industry Collection are: Metalstone, Isodora, Valetta, Dakota Oak and Smoked Oak. Valletta Sand and Pebble-Grey feature natural fine granite veins. The Isodora decor series in grey, beige and anthracite brings sandstone to the worktop. Metalstone has the visual appearance of fair-faced concrete with the character of a tarnished metal plate for an ideal combination between the characteristics of two materials. With the stone visual appearances in marble or fine granite, tender textures and grey tones dominate with a strong focus on the ability to combine with grey pigmented woods and especially uni decors.

EGGER solutions for the furniture industry and interior design combine aesthetic and functional aspects. As always, the wood-based material manufacturer is emphasising the presentation and visualisation of the individual decors. This is why the Industry Collection decor book illustrates all decors with textures in hybrid coating versions for the most authentic effect possible. A DVD with decor scans for CAD programmes, which was developed to visualise the decors, is included in the new edition as it has been in the past.

INTELLIGENT PRODUCT SOLUTIONS The decor collection is supplemented by the new brochure entitled “Products 2009-2010” for the first time this year. It includes all coreboards and accessories. The individual products are presented in a clear layout - from raw chipboards to laminated Eurodekor boards and laminates to edging solutions. In addition, a table shows their availability from the 15 EGGER plants in Europe.

DECORATIVE THIN CHIPBOARD Melamine faced Eurodekor thin chipboard is available in numerous EGGER decors and textures from a thickness of just 3 mm. Thanks to its scratch resistance, resistance to abrasion and resistance to chemicals, the surface is considerably more robust than the previously used films. The core of the product is the EGGER thin chipboard, a lightweight high density board with a low bark proportion and especially fine and quiet chip structure. Due to its increased raw density, it conforms to the criteria of the RAL quality control association for interior doors and meets the special requirements for shock and mechanical resistance. Eurodekor thin chipboards are especially suitable for use in the door industry, but can also be used as an integral component in sandwich boards.

COMPACT LAMINATE FOR INTERIOR APPLICATIONS EGGER has been offering compact laminate for the furniture industry since September 2009. The compact laminate features a multilayer structure and consists of melamine faced decorative papers and several core layers impregnated with phenolic resin. With a range of thicknesses from 5 to 13 mm, it is especially suitable for classic interior applications such as tables, work surfaces and wall cladding.

EXPANDED ACOUSTIC PROGRAMME EGGER is also expanding its range of acoustic boards. These boards feature high sound absorption and can be used as wall and ceiling solutions or, with laminated decor on both sides, for furniture construction. The ProAcoustic light series is being expanded with furniture boards and rear panels.

In addition, laminated ProAcoustic boards are now available with a larger selection of perforation patterns and slotted acoustic elements. This makes the available design options even more individual.

In combination with the Industry Collection, customers obtain a complete overview of all products and services for the furniture industry and interior design offered by EGGER.
