Welcome to our first of many letters in colour! OFSTED Yesterday we welcomed the Governments OFSTED team into our wonderful school. They were coming to look at maths throughout the school. I am very pleased to say that they enjoyed their visit and gave us some really useful guidance for the future to make us even better. As we want our school to be the best school, we are already working hard to make the changes to make our children better. The main headlines were: The children’s behaviour was good if not outstanding The recall of times tables was consistently quick The teaching of arithmetic was direct and very procedural Good progress in all classes The enthusiasm all children showed in maths What we need to do next: Apply these solid arithmetic skills across all areas of maths (multi step word problems). It really was an excellent exercise for the school to showcase itself. A special thanks to ALL the teaching staff, TA’s, cleaners and lunchtime staff for rising to the challenge ….. and a million thanks to Marc, Lilyrose, Edouardine, Sophie, Danny and Jack in Y5, all of whom were taken from class and interviewed by the inspectors. They were “really enthusiastic and could have talked about maths all day if they had the chance….. they were a real credit to the school.” (Adrian Guy Chief HMI Inspector). So we will continue to move to infinity and beyond. Year 6 SATs

Good evening Parents / Carers.

Welcome to our first of many letters in colour!

OFSTEDYesterday we welcomed the Governments OFSTED team into our wonderful school. They were coming to look at maths throughout the school. I am very pleased to say that they enjoyed their visit and gave us some really useful guidance for the future to make us even better. As we want our school to be the best school, we are already working hard to make the changes to make our children better.

What we need to do next:Apply these solid arithmetic skills across all areas of maths (multi step word problems).

So we will continue to move to infinity and beyond.

Year 6 SATsMonday May 11th to Friday 15th May is Key Stage 2 SATs week, a week when we can really shine and show how much progress we have made at our school. Year 6 it is essential to attend school all this week; or you will find me at your home doing your exams there because every point counts. Come on superstars, you can do it! Early to bed and early into school.

Year 2 SATsThese begin on Monday 18th May and end on the 19th June. The children won’t be tested every day, they will be tested in small groups during this month………… so keep reading every night and practising your maths and spellings.

Year 6 Football MatchPlease come and support our Y6 football team on Thursday evening at 3.15 p.m. (at home on the KS1 field) as they aim to stay top of the league. The game is against White Laith Primary School, the sun will be shining.
