Who are our education products for?StudentsYou are in primary or secondary education or enrolled in a degree-granting or certificate-granting course lasting at least 5 months, which requires attendance of at least two days per week. Licenses for students enrolled in part-time or short courses could be arranged directly with course providers.
GraduatesYou have recently graduated from a degree-granting or certificate-granting course lasting at least 5 months, requiring attendance of at least two days per week.
InstitutionsPrimary and secondary education providers and degree-granting or certificate-granting learning, teaching or training institutions.
FacultyYou are employed for 3 days or more per week at a primary or secondary school, degree-granting or certificate granting learning, teaching or training institution.

Our Graduate license is available for students that have recently graduated from a degree-granting or certificate-granting course lasting at least 5 months, requiring attendance of at least two days per week. The license can be purchased up to 6 months after the course has finished. Purchase can also be made at any point before graduation.

Did you have a student license? If you have purchased a student license and it has expired within the last 6 months our substantially discounted commercial license upgrade is a very cost-effective route to having permanent, commercial licenses of our products.

Frequently asked questions
Which Collective is right for me?The Production COLLECTIVE includes NUKE STUDIO, MODO and MARI, offering digital 3D modeling, animation, paint, effects, playback, editorial and shot management in a single license. Creation COLLECTIVE comprises MODO, MARI, and HIEROPLAYER offering digital 3D visualization, modeling, animation, painting, playback, and integration in a single license.
Can I renew an Annual Education License after it expires?Yes. Annual Education Licenses are renewable, so you can renew them annually, as long as you still otherwise qualify.
Can I upgrade my student license to a commercial product license?Yes. We offer a very competitive upgrade to commercial pathway. Please contact [email protected] for pricing.
Are the educational versions different to the commercial versions?The products supplied under the Educational License options are functionally identical to the commercial versions.
What happens if I use my education software for a commercial production project?Software bought at a discount under the education program must only be used for training. Individuals that use the software for commercial profit on a production will be breaking the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA). This is software piracy.Companies are permitted to profit from discounted software bought under the education program as long as the software is only used for training students and for no other purpose.
Can I still use the software that I have purchased when I am no longer a student?Your Student Education License will expire 12 months after you renew it in the final year of your course. If you still want to use the products after you graduate, you can purchase our Graduate Education License for another 12 months of software use or you can opt to upgrade to a permanent commercial license at a significantly discounted rate.
What are your policies with regards to returns?Refunds for permanent or temporary license keys cannot be issued.
How many times can I install my software?Most products are single license installations for one machine/ license server. If you have floating licenses, any machine connected to the Floating License Server can run the software as long as you have purchased sufficient seats. Floating licenses are not available for the Student, Graduate or Faculty License.
Are manuals included with the software?Our user guides are in electronic PDF format. These can be saved to your desktop as a PDF and come included in your software download as well as being able to download from our website here: www.thefoundry.co.uk/support/user-guides
Who do I contact for support?There’s lots of useful information here www.thefoundry.co.uk/support and www.thefoundry.co.uk/community/ as well as industry forums.
Can I transfer my license?Providing the transfer is inline with our license transfer policy, we permit license transfers www.thefoundry.co.uk/support/faqs/#transfer
Is there a course structure or curriculum?We’ll be launching some learning support tools in summer 2014.
Do You Know Of Any Course Structures Or Curriculum?There are a number of companies and freelancers that provide training or curriculum support, plus the fxphd NUKE Train the Trainer program.
