DHL Express Mexico | IT Manager – Programs Dec 2013 – Current

Managed a competitive IT specialist team with focus on the business strategy for the back office

domains such as operations, finances, customer service and human Resources. Delivered

projects on time and on complain with the approved budget. Lead a new sustain strategy that

consisted of developing an RFP and selecting one vendor for the infrastructure, network and

application support. The final result gave the company a 30% reduction on IT annual support

costs.

IT Jr Manager – eCommerce & Retail Apr 2011 – Nov 2013

Responsible of defining the roadmap of a local retail application with 219 sales service points at

DHL Express Mexico. A major achievement was a critical database upgrade implementation on a

client-server architecture solution, with the minimum operation impact. As part of the ecommerce

strategy, was the implementation for the introduction of the new global solution, MyDHL, with the

migration of 23k customers using a local legacy application. The implementation at DHL Express

Mexico was so well managed, it gained global recognition as a best practice.

DHL IT Services Europe | Senior Systems Engineer Mar 2008 – Apr 2011

Core responsibilities included maintenance, deployment and implementation of global

ecommerce applications, including some of the global corporate website (www.dhl.com),

webshipping international, import express online, DHL connect, among others. One of my key

achievements was participating in the transition and closure of the Americas data center located

in Scottsdale, AZ to the European data center located in Prague, Czech Republic.

Sodexho Mexico | Service Support Leader Jun 2007 – Feb 2008

Responsible of solutions support team. The main objective was to maintain the service availability

above 98%. One of the challenges was to create a new IT service department with a culture of

customer focus. Working along with business areas and project managers to build an optimum

model that could allow them to operate and provide useful management information.

DHL IT Services Americas | Senior Systems Engineer Oct 2002 – May 2007

Maintained, deployed and supported the customer access applications for Americas Region were

a team responsibility. One of the largest challenges was participating in the integration project

with Airborne, Danzas and Loomis, integrating the applications into DHL. The customer access

applications were defined according to the customer shipment volumes. Some of the applications

that were part of our support portfolio were the DHL website (www.dhl-usa.com), DHL connect

tool, import express online and webshipping international, generic application services (backend

services), new generation web day (content management system).

DHL Express Mexico | Project Leader Oct 1997 – May 2002

Developed and also maintained the legacy systems for customer service and sales teams in the Americas region. The principal systems supported were customer service module (CSM), dispatch system, shipment process system.

Senior IT Programmer Oct 1997 – May 2002

Participated in the team that was in charge of the development for operations, import and export,

and customer service systems. Some of the legacy systems were the Mexican import and export

systems, pickup call center system and radio system.
