ISBN 978-93-80543-12-3 Management in all business and organizational activities is the act of getting people together to accomplish desired goals and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. Management comprises planning, organizing, staffing, leading or directing, and controlling an organization (a group of one or more people or entities) or effort for the purpose of accomplishing a goal. Resourcing encompasses the deployment and manipulation of human resources, financial resources, technological resources, and natural resources.Management operates through various functions, often classified as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, co-operating/monitoring, Reporting and Budgeting.Planning: Deciding what needs to happen in the future (today, next week, next month, next year, over the next 5 years, etc.) and generating plans for action.
Organizing: (Implementation) making optimum use of the resources required to enable the successful carrying out of plans.
Staffing: Job analyzing, recruitment and posting individuals for appropriate jobs.
Directing: Determining what needs to be done in a situation and getting people to do it.
Co-operating & Monitoring: Checking progress against plans and co-operate to all.
Reporting: We must know about how to report to our official about the concern/ institution. At the same time, due to that report, the officials upgrade those intuitions.
Budgeting: We can analyze the financial sources, income and outgoing for the particular planning

Approaches to Educational planning: Social demand approach, Rate of return approach, Manpower planning approach, Production function approach.

Educational Administration: meaning, development of modern concept from 1900 to the present day. Taylorism. Administration - as a process, as a bureaucracy, as a monocratic, as a pluralistic. Approaches to Educational administration: objective based, administration and human rights, administration & laws, administration & public relations and administration & human relations.
UNIT - III: Psychological Needs and Administration
Psychological Needs of Employees - job satisfaction, job involvement, teacher morale, and classroom environment. System approach - specific trends in educational administration such as - decision-making, organizational compliance, organizational development, Performance Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT).
UNIT - IV: Leadership and Theories in Educational Administration
Leadership in Educational Administration concept, meaning and nature of leadership. Theories of leadership: Fiedlers contingency theory, X & Y theory. Styles of leadership and measurement of leadership.
