Abraj has introduced its own behavior-based safety program with the name of SoLOOKi. We have designed our own logo and we are in the process of regis-tering it as trade mark and copy right. SoLOOKi is an Arabic word meaning My Behavior. In the SoLOOKi logo, the dominant yellow color indicates it is a warning for unsafe act or conditions. The English letters, “LOOK” in capital indicates observing or seeing the act or condition. The logo looks as a stamp indicating the authority to stop any unsafe behavior as basis of taking the obligation to observe and report. The main concept of SoLOOKi is that Unsafe behavior create unsafe acts and conditions that leads to injuries.Abraj SoLOOKi program consists of reporting any unsafe act, unsafe condition, safe act or safe condition. As soon as any Abraj or other employee witnesses an unsafe act/condition or a situation which may lead to an incident or near miss, he / she can report it by using SoLOOKi card. All employees are encouraged to use Abraj SoLOOKi card.

ICEM COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCEInternational College of Engineering and Management (ICEM), located with-in easy reach of Muscat International airport, is recognized for providing professional Higher Education (HE), Vocational Training, Safety Services and consultancy services which meet the highest standards and accreditation. Ed-ucation at ICEM provides access to professional knowledge and expertise for a range of professions. Many of our courses are unique, only offered by ICEM in Oman, the GCC and the wider region. Our course includes what is required by companies to maximize your career opportunities. Currently, the College offers five BSc Degree programmes licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Oman and accredited by the University of Cen-tral Lancashire in the United Kingdom. These Degrees are:BSc Fire Safety (Engineering) - Fire Safety Engineering is for students who wish to be involved in the design of fire safety solutions through the applica-tion of prevailing knowledge and proven techniques. Fire Safety Engineering is a field which explores the various possibilities of preventing fires. It can be defined as the art and science of designing buildings and facilities for life safety and property protection in the event of an unwanted fire. This includes the application of scientific and engineering principles, based on an under-standing of the phenomena and effects of fire and of reaction and behavior of people, property and the environment as well as the impact of fire protection systems including detection, alarm and active fire protection systems. BSc Fire Safety (Management) - Fire Safety Management is aimed at those who would like to assume managerial responsibility for fire safety in for exam-ple, leisure complexes, office blocks, large shopping centres, public services and factories. Such roles place emphasis on human behaviour, regulation and legislation and the evaluation and development of policy for fire safety procedures and materials used in the construction industry. BSc Well Engineering - Mechanical Engineering - The programme is designed to allow students to systematically and progressively acquire the knowledge and skills required to operate effectively as an engineer in the drilling or ser-vice sector of the oil and gas industry. Through the integration of practical and experimental work with academic development, students graduating from the degree programme are placed in a unique position to embark on a career in the Oil and Gas Industry, or to continue with academic studies. Subjects cov-ered in this four year programme give students an excellent theoretical and practical grounding in well engineering and develop communication skills in English to enable effective operation in a managerial role in the industry. BSc Facilities Management - The course emphasises facilities management in the context of the built environment and its application to buildings. However, facilities management in its widest sense is not just about maintenance and controlling costs. In order to support the core activities of the business, facilities management must ensure the smooth running of the non-core services through careful planning and management. These services may include: health and safety monitoring (incorporating fire safety), component specification; infor-mation and communication technology and software; building services and operational services. Operational services may include car parking, security, catering, welfare, crèche facilities, cleaning and waste disposal, energy effi-ciency and distribution, internal communications and partnering. BSc Health, Safety & Environmental Management - Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations has become law in the Sultanate of Oman recently and many em-ployment opportunities are becoming available within industrial and commercial organizations in the field of health, safety and environmental management. It can be predicted, in relation to the Sultanate alone, that job opportunities will increase sharply and in the GCC region generally. HSE is having an increasing effect on business, commerce and industry as the region begins to focus on im-proving safety management. The demand is for well qualified, knowledgeable HSE pro-fessionals, and the aim of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to meet this demand and take advantage of the many job opportunities which will become available.

OPAL has signed a collaboration agreement for the upcoming “The Oil & Gas Year Oman 2018 edi-tion” with the Oil & Gas Year (TOGY). The book will offer a unique opportunity of providing an analysis of the energy sector seen through the eyes from the key executives in the energy field.

More than ever, this year, the book will be an essential tool for the Ministry of Oil & Gas and OPAL to promote develop-ments and measures in place to enhance sustainability and boost efficiency in the Sultanate’s oil and gas sector, as well as por-tray the core values held by small

and large oil and gas producers, operators, services companies and suppliers present in the Sul-tanate.The agreement underscores both parties’ ambition to further strengthen the Oman’s image and its presence in the interna-tional stage. The agreement was signed by Abdullah Al Harthi, OPAL’s Com-munication Executive Manager and TOGY’s Oman Country Di-rector, Sergio Rojas.

With safety at the centre of its opera-tions, Oman LNG recently announced a remarkable milestone reached – and still counting – of twenty five million man-hours worked without a Lost-Time Injury (LTI). The new record translates to over two thousand eight hundred and fifty days (25 million man-hours) or almost eight complete calendar years without casualty to any of its personnel, signposting the company’s continuing vigorous attention to the safety and health of employees and contractors. The latest milestone enunciates the company’s unrelenting strides towards estab-lishing a culture of safety, embraced by its people, to guide efficient operations of its liquefied natural gas production and export business and notably comes after a few months in which an elaborate shutdown activity with unusually high levels of personnel took place to carry out planned critical repair and maintenance. “On behalf of the Board and Management, I would like to take this opportunity, to congratulate all staff and contractors on this latest safety accomplishment. Our safety record has remained unbroken and for that we have to thank both a re-silient company culture and also the efforts of personnel across the entire supply chain. We have proudly completed 25 million LTI-free days. Each new barrier broken merely raises the bar.” said Harib Kitani, Oman LNG’s Chief Executive Officer, addressing staff and contractors on the new record, while calling for continued observance of safe practices to reach new milestone heights.

February 16th 2018 was a milestone for Cameron in Oman as we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the open-ing of our first major facility in Rusayl. Cameron has of course been active working and developing products and services to support the Omani O&G Industry for many years prior to that. We marked this wonderful occasion with a Gala Lunch at our facility for our valued customers, employees and visiting senior manage-ment. With speeches from Stefan Radwanski - our Houston based Surface Systems President, Jon Keen - Cameron Oman’s Group Operations Product and Service Delivery Manager, Daniel Shalley - Oman Sales Manager. Without doubt the show was stolen with a wonderful speech from Hasina Al Rawahi - Supply Chain, who has been with the company since we first opened our doors. She spoke with great eloquence of the pleasure of being a Cameron employee, her own personal development and career growth throughout the last twenty years with Cameron. We at Cameron are proud to be a part of the Omani O&G Industry and the part we have played in developing products, services, infrastructure and most importantly our very talented team across all three locations. With continued investment in people, products and infrastructure we look forward to being part of the outstanding Oman success story for the next twenty years and beyond.
