Where Eagles Learn to Soar!
Thank you parents for attending conferences this past Thursday! Our last evening will
be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 4:00-7:00 PM. Please try to attend a conference with
your child’s teacher. If you don’t have an appointment send in a note, call or e-mail the
instructor to set a conference date/time! When attending your conferences PLEASE
do not leave your children unsupervised. If you must bring them to conference, they
should remain with you at all times. We want our Eagles to be safe. There is no adult
supervision in the gymnasiums. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Congratulations to all the Eagles who earned the Principal’s Award and Honor Roll (3rd to
5th graders). Names are listed on page 3-6 of this newsletter!
The COMPASS CHALLENGE has begun! This competition will last
throughout the year. The goal is for students in grades 3-5 to work for
at least 60 minutes a week on COMPASS and KG-2nd graders to work at
least 30 minutes. Weekly prizes will be awarded for classes with the
highest percentage of students hitting the goal, most time spent
working on COMPASS as an individual and total time spent as a class.
See the attached sheet for how to login to compass on a PC, Mac, or
Tablet!

the program is to provide special education and related services that are

skills, motor skills, or social emotional/behavior functioning. A student is
considered disabled if they have one or more of the following conditions:

ties, emotional disturbance, or a speech or language impairment. If you
know of any child who has or may have special needs, please contact Mrs.
Eileen Bowers, Office of Pupil Services, Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools
at 440-975-3800. Once notified, the school district will contact the
parent/guardian to find out if the child needs to be evaluated. The evalu-

In an effort to go paperless we want to send the newsletter electronically each week. You
have 2 options to do this.
Option 1: If you are a parent/guardian you can set up your POWERSCHOOL account for
e-mail or even texts! Login to your parent account, go to the icons on the left
side of the screen and click on the SCHOOLMESSENGER tab. From there you
can set up your account in various ways that suit you!
Option 2: Anyone can receive general e-mails from ANY SCHOOL in the district by going to
WESCHOOLS.ORG and, using the PARENT TAB, click on ‘E-mail Communciation
Setup’. Then you can create an account and set up the e-mails.
We hope that these options allow you to stay more informed about the great things happening
in the Willoughby-Eastlake School District! #WEMATTER
