Every step to building the ship was done in 3D design. Using new technology, we were able to fine tune every detail of the ship and create innovative features including the Magic Carpet, private plunge pools in the new Edge Villas and Infinite Verandas. We were able to design the most refined, transformational ship at sea before we even started physically building it.4. WHAT IS THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME EDGE? During the two years of exploration before Edge was created, every single design element was taken to the leading edge of possibility so we thought it was a fitting name for a new class of ship and the first ship to be introduced in that class. 5. WHAT ASPECTS OF THE EDGE CLASS ARE THE DESIGNERS WORKING ON? • Kelly Hoppen is a world-renowned interior designer with 40 years of experience at the forefront of the design industry and one of the most celebrated and sought after interior designers in the world. Her renowned and ever-evolving style is underpinned by a subtle coordinated fusion of East meets West; clean lines and neutral tones, blended with charming warmth and sumptuous opulence. We knew that working with her and her style was exactly what we needed to make a bold, modern luxury statement. - Kelly Hoppen designed the following onboard Celebrity Edge: the transformational staterooms and suites, The Retreat including: The Retreat Lounge, The Retreat Sundeck featuring a private pool and the exclusive restaurant Luminae at The Retreat, the Spa, restrooms, corridors• Tom Wright is a globally respected architect, having designed some of the world’s most iconic buildings. Having lived in Dubai for five years, he was Design Director for the Jumeirah Beach Resort Development where he designed the world-famous Burj Al Arab Hotel. HOW ARE THE POOL AREAS DIFFERENT? • Main Pool: The main pool is an outward-facing, untraditionally asymmetrical terraced pool deck that makes the ocean views and landscapes the focal point while lounging poolside. • Lap Pool: With a 25-yard lap pool and martini glass shaped hot tubs, guests never have to wonder where to relax. • Jogging Track: A quarter-mile-long two-deck jogging track surrounds the pool area.• Art Installations: Unique and distinctive art installations set this space apart from any other at sea: larger-than-life art pieces designed by Tom Wright including an ever-changing, abstract mirror installation positioned above the Pool Bar. • Tree Sculptures: Unique tree sculptures add an air of whimsy and create an intimate setting at night • Cabanas: Spacious cabanas line the starboard side of the deck, with outward facing views. • Exclusive to Suite Class: “The Retreat” is an ultra-exclusive private utopia reserved exclusively for Suite Class guests with a private pool29. HOW MANY HOT TUBS ARE LOCATED OUTSIDE? • The 2 two-story-high hot tubs are located on the pool deck. • There is an additional hot tub in the Solarium and in The Retreat for suite guests.34. WHY DID YOU CHANGE THE LAWN CLUB TO THE ROOFTOP GARDEN ON EDGE? The Rooftop Garden is an evolution of the iconic and popular Lawn Club featured on the Solstice class. It is a living urban playscape inspired by childhood playgrounds and designed to awaken the inner child in all of us. It’s a lively, spacious environment and perfect for slowing down and daydreaming. • The Rooftop Garden is full of unexpected pleasures day and night. Guests can find a cozy chair, sink in and get lost in a good book. Sip a refreshing cocktail while gazing out over the open ocean. Drift away to the rhythm of live musical performances coming down from treetop sculptures. • This is also where our popular A Taste of Film allures interactive fusion of food and film. Guests can dance the night away or just lie back on a comfy lounger and gaze up at the sea of stars above.35. WHAT IS THE SOLARIUM ROOF MADE OUT OF?The Solarium roof is made out of ultra-durable ETFE, which weighs about 1% the weight of glass, making it very lightweight.36. WHAT IS THE MAGIC CARPET?• Perched on the starboard side of the ship, the Magic Carpet makes Celebrity Edge’s distinctive, sleek profile recognizable from miles away. With its stunning, open-air panoramic, outward-facing ocean views, Magic Carpet is designed with a yacht-like, breezy, and casual vibe, with comfortable seating, a full bar, and space for live music performances, making it the place to see and be seen. • The Magic Carpet is an innovative traveling venue that sets Celebrity Edge apart from every other ship in the world. It changes its mood, function, and even its location by extending up to Deck 16 providing guests incredible visual perspectives and a distinct experience on every deck it visits.


37. CAN GUESTS RIDE ON THE MAGIC CARPET?No, the Magic Carpet is safely locked in each location first then guests are welcome to step onboard. 38. WILL THE FURNITURE ON THE MAGIC CARPET CHANGE ON EACH DECK?• The Magic Carpet is designed with comfortable seating, a full bar, and space for live music performances, making it a destination itself.• Some furniture is fixed, while the environment and experiences will change around it from deck to deck. 39. WHICH DECKS DOES THE MAGIC CARPET VISIT AND WHEN?• This spectacular space repositions to several decks and transforms into a new and exciting venue depending on which deck it is positioned.• When the Magic Carpet is positioned above the pool deck on Deck 16, it becomes the ultimate specialty restaurant high in the sky where mouthwatering experiences such as “Dinner on the Edge” are hosted for guests. Get ready for a unique, al fresco culinary journey under the stars that’s sure to satisfy the senses and sense of wonder all at the same time.• When on Deck 14, Magic Carpet becomes an extension of the expansive relaxing main pool area, the perfect place for breathtaking views, tantalizing libations, and live music.• When on Deck 5, Magic Carpet extends the ship’s restaurants into the most amazing al fresco seating imaginable for close to 100 guests. 41. WILL WE HAVE A SCHEDULE OF THE MOVEMENT OF THE MAGIC CARPET? The Magic Carpet will visit various decks throughout the voyage including Deck 2 during tender operation; Deck 14 as an extension of the Resort Deck on sea days and Deck 5 for al fresco dining. On occasion, the Magic Carpet will be positioned on Deck 16, just above the pool deck, for special “Dinner on the Edge” events. A schedule of Magic Carpet’s positioning will be published daily for guests. 42. WILL PEOPLE ON THE MAGIC CARPET BE ABLE TO LOOK INTO MY ROOM AS THEY PASS BY? • Guests cannot be on the Magic Carpet when it repositions. • There are shades in the staterooms43. NOISE: WILL THERE BE ANY TYPE OF NOISE FROM THE MOVEMENT OF THE MAGIC CARPET THAT WILL INTERRUPT THE GUEST EXPERIENCE? Because the Magic Carpet is mechanically operated, there is some noise, however, our naval architects have taken every precaution in the design to minimize any noise. 44. HOW SOUNDPROOF ARE THE CATEGORY STATEROOMS THAT ARE IN THAT AREA? We have a high standard soundproofing ratio for all our staterooms and suites, in which these staterooms comply. While there may be minimal noise from movement, the Magic Carpet will only reposition a few times throughout the day. 45. CAN SERVICE ANIMALS PERMITTED TO BOARD THE MAGIC CARPET? The Magic Carpet is an extension of various venues including the pool deck, specialty restaurant, and tendering on deck 2, therefore; service dogs are permitted on the Magic Carpet. 46. 59. CAN A NON-SUITE GUEST PAY TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE RETREAT? DAILY FEE OPTION? • The Retreat and the many exclusive experiences are only available to our suite guests.60. The Celebrity Family Suites (2 pairs CS- C2) and Sky Family Suites (6 pairs SV + S1) are only available during Christmas and New Year’s Eve sailings. The brochure will identify that the rooms can convert to family suites. To book, you must to call Reservations as these suites will be held back. Note if they do not sell we will re-categorize to the original categories.65. WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE OPERABLE WINDOW? HOW WILL I OPEN IT?• The window is 2.3m W X 2m H. (7’-6 1/2” Ft W X 6’-6 3/4” H)• The window is divided into two panels horizontally, with the upper panel lowering outboard in front of the lower panel. The lower panel of the window is fixed at balcony height. The window is electronically operated by the push of a button located near the window and can be closed from the bridge during inclement weather.66. WILL THE HEIGHT OF THE OPERABLE WINDOW BE RESTRICTIVE TO ENSURE CHILDREN ARE SAFE? The Infinite window height is the same height as a veranda. We have restricted children from operating the window by placing the button at a child safe height. There is also a child safety lock that can prevent the window from being operated. 67.
