This is especially true for templates that ask users to capture lots of variable information. By just tweaking a few of your settings, you can make the templates you merge easier and faster to read and, consequently, faster to edit. Additionally, similar to the My Favorites: Medications tip, identifying your frequently used templates will put them within arm’s reach –or clicks’ reach– and help you cut out the search and select time of finding a template. This may not as effective for templates that are already easily accessible in the Templates window (e.g., age-specific standard well child templates, etc.) however, it will do well if: You need to type characters to search for your template and You find yourself merging the same template at least 3 times per week Configuring your favorite templates will allow you to merge a template in exactly two clicks. 2. Go to User Settings tab.

3. From Display style for Structured data elements in Progress Notes (4th option from the bottom), select

New Line.

4. Go to Show/Hide tab.

5. From Tabs to display in Progress Note Chart Panel (bottom). Select Templates box.

6. Go to Defaults tab.

7. From Default Style in Progress Notes (5th option from the top), select Bulleted.

8. From Default Progress Notes Templates (8th option from the top), select Generic.

9. Click OK to save. Log out and log back in to view changes.

My Favorites: Templates 1. Save as you go: From the Progress Notes, click Templates at the bottom. For advance configuration, go

to step 6.

2. Search for desired template.

3. Highlight template and click Add As Favorite.

4. Change category to view Favorites.

5. To remove templates from favorites list, follow steps 6, 9, and 10. 6. Advance configuration: Go to File > Templates.

7. Search for desired template.

9. Click Configure My Favorites to view saved favorites.

10. Remove or add templates as needed by highlighting and using arrows. Click Save.

Please note: list order of templates in My Favorites cannot be changed. Templates list saves alphabetically regardless of order in which templates were added.

2. From the right chart panel, click Templates tab. (Click No. 1.)

3. Click on the arrow next to your desired template to merge. (Click No. 2.)
