WHAT – National curriculum
The Australian Curriculum website – ACARA Phase 1 English, mathematics, science & history Phase 2 Geography, languages and the arts Phase 3 ACARA has published draft shape papers on Health and Physical Education and Technologies Cross-curriculum priorities
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures
• Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia • Sustainability.
WHAT – State English syllabus K-10 The NSW Board of Studies BOS have published state syllabus documents for Phase 1 subjects; English, mathematics, science & history. NSW teachers will teach from these documents which includes the national curriculum content.

Objectives
They define, in broad terms, the knowledge, understanding, skills, values and attitudes to be developed through study in the subject K-10. Outcomes
There are outcomes which cover only one mode, reading & viewing, writing & representing or speaking & listening.
There are new multimodal outcomes which include content for Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing together.
