Personal Strategy

The reason I chose this company as one of my stocks was because we went over it in

class and it seemed ideal to continue the process that was already started. I also noticed

how the stock for this company has increased drastically through its years, and I was in

hope that it would just keep increasing while I did my project. Disney also paid a

dividend so I did not mind that. Obviously my love for Disney, especially Disney movies

had a bias input to me choosing the company. Finally, the financial news that has been

showed by this company gave me the courage to choose it with its positive reviews.

Selling

I chose to keep my stock all the way through the whole project till the end because I

noticed that it was increasing and was making profit. I had faith that I was going to make

money if I kept the stock, and I did.

It is average sized, compared with its competitors. Nestle makes more money, and has

more employees, that is probably due to the fact that Nestle makes more products other

is still not much behind from it. Overall it can be conclude that this company is on a high

average for the production it does.

Personal Strategy

The reason I chose this company for my second stock was because I personally love

Coca-cola products, the water Dasani is a favorite of mine, aside from the actual sodas. I

also studied how the company has increased throughout the years, and it looked

promising. The shares were also cheap the day I “bought” them; I was hoping I would

make profit. It also paid a dividend, so that pursued me even more to choose it. Overall

there where good reviews from the financial news and I was sold, I chose this stock to be

my second stock.

Selling

Like my previous stock I did not sell the stock but finished with it till the end of the

project. The reason I did not sell or traded was because my stock was increasing and I

was making a good profit. I did not want to miss the opportunity to make more money the

next day.

4.  Jobs, factory data point slowing economy

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/jobless-claims-rise-marginally-last-123410124.html

Summary

Last week the number of unemployment rate took a rise and the number of factory work

decreased. It is thought that since the economy was doing badly in the month of March it carriedon to the month of April causing a large number of unemployment. People are worried that the

economy will have a drastic drop in employment, and the world must find a way to make it

better. The theory behind the bad economy at the moment is thought to be because of factories.

Factories are not producing as much merchandise as they should causing people to get fired and

less people buying, obviously having this negative impact in the world’s economy and

employment rate.

Project Evaluation

What did you learn about the stock market ability to indicate what is happening in the US

economy.

-  When the stock market rises or drops it does not only affect the US economy but the

whole world. When stock prices rise the economy seems to be doing than usual, but

as it drops we see how our country struggles to rise up again.

What are some of the things you learned by doing this project?

-  Some of things I learned by doing this project was to understand better how the stock

market worked. I learned how people sold, traded, or bought their stocks and got an

idea of the extra expenses it came with it. I also saw how it had such a great impact

on how our economy was doing.

What recommendations do you have to improve the project for next year?

-  Personally I liked how our teacher asked us to turn in our current events because it

kept use on top of things. If she could ask for other parts of the project with

anticipation, it will help students stay on top of their projects and complete them in a

timely manner. Overall it was develop and I enjoyed doing the project.
