Retail and Public Realm• City centre management partnership • City centre events - Festival, Olympic Torch Relay and

Food & Drink Festival• Retailer of Year, Festive Pub of Year, Festive Shop Window

• Christmas market and other specialist markets• 22 new free 1 hr on street parking spaces in St Albans city

centre - additional spaces being investigated • 130 parking spaces increased from 1 to 2 hrs free parking

in Harpenden – 10 reduced to 30 mins free parking in high use areas

• Two monolith signs - St Albans city station/Town Hall - five planned

Business Friendly• Cross-council officer group includes planning, regulatory

services and business rates

• Opportunities for local business in Council procurement
