TECHNICAL PROPERTIES

Ecogel™ is a synergistic combination of polysaccharides and lysolecithin

Lysolecithins are obtained from phospholipids via an enzymatic reaction.

Having only one lipophilic tail, lysolecithins allow Ecogel™ to emulsify small amount of oil phase, by stabilizing

emulsions due to the creation of small oil droplets.

COMPOSITION

This synergistic composition brings Ecogel™ strong gelling and emulsifying properties!

FORMULATION TIPS

• At D0, the highest viscosity is obtained at cold process.

After the maturation of the gels at D1, viscosities between

cold and hot process are the same. Final viscosity of the

gel is obtained at D1

• Ecogel™ isn’t shear sensitive, gel will not break with high

shear and long stirring

• The viscosity can be increased: increasing the percentage

of Ecogel™ (Reminder: apply the highest shear force)

• To limit aeration of a gel of Ecogel™, use vacuum or

develop Ecogel™ in the aqueous phase at hot process

(T>60°C) with a toothed propeller

• In case of oxidation of formula, addition of chelating agent

and/or antioxidant is recommended

• Easy to handle: powder form

Ecogel™ is an efficient wetting agent as it facilitates and accelerates mineral pigment wetting and

dispersion, conducting to a more homogeneous color in formula

Ecogel™ helps also a good dispersion

of pigments in formulas, giving an homogeneous

spreading and a natural covering.

Ecogel™ allows to suspend alone up to 20%

pigments because no pigment aggregation is

observed, and is able to reach 30% pigments with

an external stability support (e.g. Xanthan Gum).
