It's my first competition I discussed how to

utilize the concept of sustainability to give

a new vision for an urban planning.

The idea is creating eco-space for

Kaohsiung city center, which had developed

from industry, and people would live with

nature environment.

First, the eco-planning not only could

provide a biology environment quality and

fresh city image but also expects that the

urban could provide a nature education

environment for students, and cooperating

with schools to keep the city space

sustainability.

In the pastKaohsiung had developed from industry in south of Taiwan. The quality of the water and air was very bad. After the industry was not flourishing, more and more citizens expects that they should have better environment in live.

In the futureKaohsiung has very rich natural

environment surrounding. I believe that the city could have very conformable environment because the concept of

"Eco-Manufacturing."

Importing the ecological gene from "Ecological Network"

Linking nature could introduce ecological gene into city center.

Adopting public city space could improve the green space sustainability by school.

Saving the recycle transportation distance could reduce the carbon dioxide emission

Infilling more nature in city space could strengthen ecological network and give comfortable environment.

Strategy 1

Linking nature could introduce ecological gene into city center.

According to the Kaohsiung city map, there are a hill, Chou Shan Zoo, a Love River, some parks and campus in the city. If nature and biological gene could be connected from those points, the city would be a best habitat for biodiversity.

Strategy 2

Adopting public city space could improve the green space sustainability by school.

School could adopt a city place, for example, sidewalk or street, to help government to take care of the ecological environment. Also, the process could be part of education for developing students’ basic concept of environment sustainability.

New Food Chain for reducing the waste and resource

According to the research of the original food chain and wastes transportation, we found that people didn’t consider the

place of people in the food chain and waste lots of social resource for saving

nature resource.

Therefore, we believe that people could reduce amount of waste because the

city planer import the concept of "Living Waste Reusing System." That people

could reduce the resource needs because of the behavior of daily life-

Planning City Subject Space with Nature

The MRT pass through the main part of city and most of tourists and citizens would like to use it to visit this city. Designing a city subject on Jhongshan Rd. (B) could give the first fresh image of city.

Then, utilizing the two main roads, Canal NO.2 (A) and Wufu Rd. (C), could connect the activities from city center to the riverside of Love River. M

Most of people like to drive cars and motorbikes in Kaohsiung city because the weather is too hot in most of time and the roads are too wide. So people don't like walking and use cars or motorbike often.

With the new idea, if city could have more trees and decrease the width of roads, organisms and people would have better walking environment in the city.

Furthermore, if the city could have a good recycle system in building with natural environment, it would help to reduce living waste.

In the future, people could live with fresh space and the city would have better nature environment.
