OverviewThe ECLYPSE Connected Terminal UnitController is designed to control terminal unitssuch as fan coil units, chilled beams, ceilings,and heat pumps.It integrates a control, automation andconnectivity server, a power supply, anddedicated I/Os in one convenient package.Each model supports BACnet/IP communicationand is listed as a BACnet Building Controller (B-BC).These products feature wired and wirelessadvanced IP connectivity for efficient andreliable installation.The Connected Terminal Unit Controller comeswith an embedded web server that enablesweb-based application configuration and anHTML5 visualization interface. It also featuresembedded scheduling, alarming, and logging.Control logic and graphic user interface can becustomized as required for the application.

Moreover, as part of the Smart Room Controlsolution, these controllers can control lightingfixtures (DALI, ON/OFF, dimming) and shades/sunblind motors (24 VDC or 100-240 VAC, up/down and angle rotation) through additionalexpansion modules.

Advanced IP ConnectivityThe different types of connections supported bythe ECLYPSE Connected Terminal UnitController are the following:

IP wired connectionInternal switch with two Ethernet ports allowsthe controllers to be wired in a star or daisy-chain topology. With a daisy-chain topology:£ Fewer wire runs to a centralized switch are

required, thereby achieving installation andcost reduction.

£ A laptop can be connected to the secondEthernet port for direct programming,configuration, and commissioning using EC-gfxProgram or ENVYSION.

Integrated Fail-Safe for Daisy-ChainingControllers feature an integrated fail-safe: incase of power failure to one of the daisy-chained controllers, communication data is stillrelayed to the following controller on the daisy-chain. This reduces the possibility that a singlepoint of failure will knock-out follow-oncontrollers, and minimizes disruption whenpower is cut to a controller for maintenanceoperations.

IP wireless (Wi-Fi) connectionThe following types of Wi-Fi connections arepossible when using the ECLYPSE Wi-FiAdapter:

£ Wi-Fi Client - Connection to the building’sexisting Wi-Fi network or to anothercontroller’s Wi-Fi Hotspot or Access Point.

£ Wi-Fi Access Point - extending the building’swired IP network to your Wi-Fi Clientdevices.

£ Wi-Fi Hotspot - your own wireless areanetwork, for wireless communicationbetween the controllers, or with a mobiledevice or laptop for configuration,commissioning and servicing.

Both IP wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) connectionThe availability of both Ethernet ports and USBports for the Wi-Fi Adapter, allows forsimultaneous wired IP and Wi-Fi communicationon the same controller, allowing you to chooseand combine these connection methods. Forexample, Wi-Fi can be used between twocontrollers to jump a large atrium.

BACnet/IP Device (pending)The ECLYPSE Connected Terminal UnitController is BTL-listed as a BACnet BuildingController (B-BC) and is certified WSP B-BC(Europe) and AMEV AS-A & AS-B (German-speaking countries). It supports BACnet/IP forfaster communication in comparison to thetraditional twisted pair communication bus.

No External TransformerSome models feature a 100-240 VAC universalpower supply input that allows for directconnection to the mains and do not requireexternal transformers, for improved reliabilityand reduced installation costs.Some models have a 24 VAC power supplyoutput that can be used to power analogdampers and valve actuators therebyeliminating the need for a transformer.

Direct web accessAlso, no additional tools are required; only aweb-browser is needed when you are using thepre-loaded application through ENVYSION. AnAllure™ EC-Smart-Vue sensor can also beused.
