I recently sold an AV21 Schematics and Powerplant to someone who I had never met prior to the sale date. Everything went well, and we drew things to a close. I signed off early and went to bed. The next day, there's 4 emails in my inbox, all explaining that he feels he should get his money back. The first was shortly after I signed off, explaining that he found another dealer selling the same stuff for 200k less. I sold him the stuff for 2.5M, he apparently found someone else offering the same stuff for 2.3mil. Well, I replied and told him that the sale was final, an encouraged him to shop around next time. I also told him I priced the stuff at 2.5M because I went up and got it myself. This takes time, money and off course burns up my armor. The next email was filled with anger and spite. He felt that I ripped him off and demanded to have a 200k discount for his trouble. He made threats of contacting a CSR. He used appropriate language and to be quite honest, I guess I felt a little intimidated so to avoid a problem, I just bank tipped him 200k to be done with it, making a mental note to never deal with this person again. The next two emails were of the same content, just threats to contact CSRs and what have you. Although 200k (plus the 5% charge) may not be much to some - it certianly is to me. I decided that if 200k + the charge would make this guy happy, then fine. After all, I had 2000K now. (2 million). Well, so I go about my business, I can't help but wonder if 2.5M is to much for an AV21 Schema and P-Plant. I had seen someone selling an AV21 for 3million earlier that day, so I just shrugged it off. Ok, now the next day... I log on and get another 2 emails from this guy. He's raging mad and now demands all his money back. I think, good grief... what the heck is this... He goes on to explain that he found an artisan to build the AV21 for him. First he says the artisan charged 50k for the job. I thought, 'nothing wrong with that, using good materals at around 6 cpu is a great deal.' (an AV21 uses 8k total materials between ferrous, and nonferrous metals. I would have built it myself but I recently dropped master artisan to persue other professions). He then explains that the artisan reported a critical failure crafting job two times in a row, and it caused all the material, including the Plant to be destroyed in the process. As you may have guessed, I questioned the claims on both party's account for several reasons. I replied saying that what he does with his stuff after we concluded our business is not my fault, problem or responsibility. I told him I felt bad for his loss, but unless he could return my plant and schematic, I considered the deal final. I assured him that I didn't want to deal with him anymore, and was willing to buy back the stuff if he promised to never contact me again.

Well, he replies, telling me to go to hell, etc and that he would be reporting me. That was a few days ago, and still no word from any CSRs. Well, this event has turned me off from private sales for the time being. I don't know what to think or feel about this. What would other crafters (or loot sellers) do? How would you as a consumer feel if this happened to you?

He bought the stuff fare and square and should live with it. Its not your problem the crafter after the purchase had a crit failiure. I think the CSR's will probably have his complaint in there

I will be quite honest - I think what you sold it for was great - I see many loot vendors with powerplants for 3million and the schematic for 300k-500k. I`m not a crafter, well, a tailor, but nothing else. I think what you did was quite fair by tipping back 200k, even though I wouldn`t have. When you buy something from someone, you don`t turn around and want to cancel - its a final sale in my books - I sell loot from time to time, never had this issue - but I wouldn`t go back on the deal - its their responsibility as a buyer to shop around and find the best price - we as merchants sell for our price, others sell for those and thats all up to them. I`d say you handled it appropriatly, to be honest. But thats just my thoughts. =)

If I was the consumer, I would be happy to get an AV-21 schem and PP for 2.5 Million, sounds to me about half a million cheaper than what it goes for on the open market. Then I would take it to a Master Artisan I trust with my life, and if there was a crit failure, "c'est la vie".

While some stores in the Real World(tm) do offer price matching schemes, you didn't, and if I was the one making the sale I would NEVER have refunded him the 200K. You asked for a price, he paid it, you gave him the merchandise. End of story.

Sounds like he is just being a cry baby, when you buy a Powerplant and Schematic instead of a deed you run the risk of a crit fail. I have crafted over 40 AV21's and had about 3 crit fails, yes you lose the powerplant. He has no case with the CSR's and you should not have even given him the 200K back, nevermind the full amount. My suggestion to you is put him on ignore and go about your business.

You are not wrong at all Homper. Its the guys fault for not shopping for a better price or even haggling the price with you prior to the sale. Its not your fault that an artisan crit failed on the build. It comes with the territory of being an artisan. He should have known this. Everything was square and above board. You are not and should never be at fault for anything like this. It boils down to that guy being a sore loser and a poor consumer. I've done lots of custom orders and never had any problem like this with anyone. If anything he was trying to get something for nothing. Whose to say that the artisan really failed. If you deal with such high amounts in the future you may want to advise the consumer on the transaction being final. It really shouldn't be necessary but some people are just...well consumer challenged.

Well, so I go about my business, I can't help but wonder if 2.5mil is to much for an AV21 Schema and P-Plant. I had seen someone selling an Av21 for 3million earlier that day, so I just shrugged it off. Ok, now the next day... I log on and get another 2 emails from this guy. He's raging mad and now demands all his money back. I think, good grief... what the heck is this... He goes on to explain that he found an artisan to build the AV21

for him. First he says the artisan charged 50k for the job. I thought, 'nothing wrong with that, using good materals at around 6 cpu is a great deal.' (an Av21 uses 8k total materials between ferrous, and nonferrous metals). He then explains that the artisan reported a critical failure crafting job two times in a row, and it caused all the material, including the Plant to be destroyed in the process. As you may have guessed, I questioned the claims on both party's account for several reasons. I replied saying that what he does with his stuff after we concluded our business is not my fault, problem or responsibility. I told him I felt bad for his loss, but unless he could return my plant and schematic, I considered the deal final. I assured him that I didn't want to deal with him anymore, and was willing to buy back the stuff if he promised to never contact me again. Well, he replies, telling me to go to hell, etc and that he would be reporting me. That was a few days ago, and still no word from any CSRs. Well, this event has turned me off from private sales for the time being. I don't know what to think or feel about this. What would other crafters do? How would you as a consumer feel if this happened to you?

he sounds like a self centered, greedy brat, you dont have to put up with that, if i purchased a AV21 for 2.5mil, and then found one that was being sold for less...... it was my loss, i decided to buy it for 2.5mil and if the sale was final, i'd respect the person who sold it to me and go on with what i was doing, from a crafters point of view, he had no right to threaten you, his reasons for contacting a CSR were bogus, you should have reported HIM. first thing is first, you told him the sale was final, and that there will be no refund/tradeback. although next time you sell one or anything. what a good business person, although very few do it, is to encourage the customer to shop around for a better price. before buying from you, not only does it save you the trouble of dealing with people like that, but it also improves the economy, IMO as i said before, you didnt have to put up with that, if he threatend you and you felt intimidated, you should have reported him right away, you have the right to feel safe, and secure, he was taking that right from you Just my opinion

As a crafter and merchant, if I had been in that situation, I would have done the same thing you did: told him sorry 'bout your luck, the sale is final, you should have shopped around. Besides, by giving you the money, he fulfilled his part of the agreement, and by you giving him the powerplant and schematic, you fulfilled your end of the deal. All said and done. No questions asked. I think it was good of you to inform him that you went and got the items yourself, taking your time, money, wear and tear on items, etc, so even if he did think it was overpriced, he might understand why. I'm not quite sure I would've tipped him the money back, but I don't know exactly what was said between the two of you, so I don't have much of an opinion there. I would never, ever deal with that person again, as well. I don't think what you sold was over priced at all...I've seen the same deal for 3mil+ before, as you'd said you had. As a consumer, same situation, I found the same thing I just bought for 200k less, I would think "I should've checked prices elsewhere, silly me" and go on about my business. I've done that kind of thing before, and lost several thousand credits because of it. But I didn't send angry emails to whoever made/looted it demanding my money back....that thought never crossed my mind at all! From what you said here, I think you handled the situation very well. Doesn't sound like anything a CSR could really handle to me, but I could be wrong. I'm sorry to hear of your

As everyone elses has stated.. You did nothing wrong. All sales are final and 2.5 million was a good price. Maybe he went to a artsian that wasnt a master, maybe he sold it for 3 mil and is a scam artist jsut trying to bully you into giving his money back. I wouldnt have given him 200k back unless it was a good friend of mine and had a much better excuse than i found it cheaper elsewhere. I have made about 10 AV21 and never had a crit fail, i had kinda assumed you couldnt on them, but sounds like you can. Dont worry about the guy just go about your business and keep selling, just make sure the rules are stated up front. Probably some 10 yr old kid that doent know right from wrong yet.

I agree with this totally. He entered into a contract with you. He found the terms of the contract acceptable and completed it. Why dont you share his name here so other people won't get grief from someone who is very obviously a tool, and a spoilt brat and shouldnt be given the opportunity of a decent trade. BUT the money I do have is hard earned, and when someone tries to rip me off by charching more than its wrong, and I should get my money back. Ok so we made the deal but then I find out later that the deal was flawed from the getgo, so that makes it invalid. you can't charge someone more credits than what something is worth. Thats EXPLOITING the economy. Its people like homper (by the way thats a dumb name) that make the economy suck. New people won't be able to own an VA21 because of such prices.

When I can get Plants myself I won't charge that much. I might give them away for free just to ruin all of you greedy economy exploiters. AND KSHARPO I'm not a TOOL I don't know what your trying to say but you don't make no sense at all. so you might just want to sit back and stop looking like a flaming fool. because you do know where to get VA21s once everyone knows how to do it, you'll be out of business.

I don't know why you are all supporting this this its flawed to the core and the DEVs should set a limit to how much someone can charge fomr something. OH AND BTW, I ACTUALLY BURN up my ITEMS too, but going on REAL hunts.
