New 6mm strip

The addition of the 300 LEDs/m strip in a miniaturised EC6 (6mm) supports both the Glide Mini and Legacy. With CRI 90+, the EC6 is 10W/m and available in 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. Use the EC6 in the traditional Legacy to improve light uniformity for virtual dot-free illumination.

New diffusers

The Eclipse G2 now boasts two new diffusers in addition to the traditional Opal. Complementing the textured black (RAL 9005) profile, the Midnight diffuser is a modern integrated style. The Horizon diffuser protrudes beyond the profile enabling the light to radiate greater than 180° for vertical illumination.

New profiles

The selection process for our large range of profiles can be quite daunting. With each profile made to cover different needs in different types of projects, we have created a selection matrix below to assist you in choosing a profile that will best suit your requirements.

Tip 1: The GI25T and GI40T profile gives the option for a simpler installation process, allowing cable to pass through the channel underneath for easy access.

Tip 2: Larger profiles allows the use of two strips within a single profile for higher output requirements up to 30W/m.

Tip 3: Through additional preparations before install, surface mounted profiles can still be used for a recessed application for a trimless look.

For outdoor applications, the Eclipse Glide IP67 profile is completely sealed. It can be installed on facades or inground on walkways and surfaces to enhance the ambience and accessibility at night.

Phase-Cut

The 24V phase-cut driver's compatibility with Eclipse G2 creates the simplest of dimming solutions. The driver allows for dimming of any PWM compatible 24VDC luminaires through leading/trailing edge controls.

Surface mounted applications

Surface mounted linear lighting is suitable where the design intent calls for the luminaire profile to be visible for aesthetics or where ceiling space is limited. In situations where the distance between the structural ceiling and the dropdown ceiling are minimal, surface mounted luminaires offer a practical solution.

Recessed applications

Recessed light flawlessly integrates into the surface with no obstructions. An excellent example is the addition of light into a timber ceiling where a glow emanates without a noticeable fitting. Recessed linear lighting also complements bulkheads with a wash of light across the wall and ceiling.

Suspended applications

Suspended linear lighting is both an elegant and functional solution for a variety of applications. Suspending the luminaire from the ceiling, draws attention to the lighting design and offers the benefit of delivering light where it needs to be in situations with larger ceiling heights.

Mounting Options

An invisible power source with a single suspension point

Great care and engineering have radically transformed the Eclipse G2 into a suspended pendant. By integrating the power through one of the teflon coaxial cables, the power source is indiscernible from the other suspension cables. The strong suspension cables can hold up to 5kg which provides assurance of the durability and safety of the linear light.

For the most minimal and unobtrusive solution, the Invisimount accessory connects the suspension wire into the ceiling via a miniature bracket, hiding away the driver in the ceiling. The alternative linear canopy connects the suspension wire into a rectangular canopy, neatly storing the driver.

Cloud Series

A genuinely unique profile, the Cloud is the latest in versatility with a hidden-clip system to create a sleek, seamless surface mounted aesthetic.

Achieve a seamless surface mounted aesthetic using hidden clips. No longer do you need to mount the strip and profile separately but easily clip in place. Simplify mounting to ceilings and under cabinetry with less fuss and visual clutter.

Multiple diffuser options

The CS20 profile can be paired with an Opal or Midnight diffuser – while the CB20 has the same diffuser options but sunken into a baffle trim for reduced glare. For applications requiring broader light output or vertical illumination, the CU20 profile is paired with the Horizon diffuser.

6mm strip

Miniaturised versions of classic applications are becoming more dominant, particularly popular in densely populated urban areas with limited space. The EC6 6mm strip is the perfect solution when the design application requires a thin straight line of light with superior performance.

20mm cut increments

The length of all strip light in the Eclipse G2 series can be fabricated to suit any application. The EC6 is customisable down to 20mm increments, with the EC10 down to 25mm increments. The RGB strip has 50mm segments. These increments enable illumination from end-to-end.

Increased LED density

To improve the uniformity of illumination, the number of LEDs on the strip has significantly increased. The EC10 strip has 120 LEDs/m and the EC6 has 300 LEDs/m. Pair the strip with the desired profile to achieve dot-free light.

Ideal for cabinetry

Midnight Diffuser

Integrate the profile into darker surroundings such as dark walls, cabinets and feature ceilings. Or use the Midnight diffuser as a standout feature. With the power off, it is difficult to discern the diffuser from the profile. With the lights on, the luminaire produces a clean line of light for general illumination.

As is expected, the midnight diffuser does not provide the same lumen output as a standard Opal diffuser but creates a softer illumination for design applications. Midnight diffusers can be surface mounted, recessed or suspended in Glide and Cloud profiles.

Often strip lighting in hotels can be difficult and convoluted to manage – there can be thousands of metres of strip lighting all at different lengths. Most of the time strips and profiles come separate and there is a lot of time invested in cutting, soldering and fabricating strips inside to profiles at all different lengths.

Unios’ Australian assembly facility (ESD-free) can pre-fabricate the LED strip into the profile to meet custom-length requirements. Precisely labelled and type marked for convenient placement, the installation is straight forward. Configured with custom leads, as required, trades can simply plug and play on-site.

Suspended Design Guide

Use this Suspension Design Guide to assist in deciding the profile type, length and installation method for your pendant. This practical guide give you all the tools to design the perfect suspended linear light for any application.

Linear Canopy is a suspended solution that can be applied to most ceilings whether there is a ceiling cavity or not.

1. Ceiling space

The selection process for your suspended linear light design begins with determining the amount of ceiling available. When there is access to the ceiling cavity, you can choose from the Linear Canopy or the Invisimount Canopy. When space is inaccessible, the Linear Canopy is the only suspension method.

3. Setting the suspension height

Suspend the light to your desired height for the application you require the pendant for. Suspending the light between 1700-1800mm from the floor or roughly above eye level is a general rule of thumb that provides a good mixture between brightness on the table but also limiting glare to the surrounding areas.

2. Finding the perfect size

A key advantage of using the Eclipse as a linear pendants is its customisable length of up to 3m with 25mm increments. Build an ideal pendant size, customised and cut to your preferred length.

4. Profile selection

Glide GS35U is ideal for applications requiring higher outputs and/or areas requiring indirect lighting. The size and its ability to accomodate dual row LEDs, makes this the most suitable profile.

For clean aesthetic lines, use the CS20 suspended to deliver a thin line of light over your bench. Take advantage of the Cloud CB20 profile's baffle aesthetic to add an additional layer and depth to your design.

Tip: Allowing 150-300mm of space from the edge of your bench or table provides a good separation between the edge of the table and pendant.

Brighter output are better suited to areas with overhead cover or tree canopies. This reduces unnecessary light spill into the night sky. Inground lighting can help achieve vertical illuminance at face level when combined with handrail lighting to achieve floor levels.

Tip 2: Directly visible strip lighting used as a feature works best when the strip light is the focus of attention. Lower light output levels can achieve higher visual comfort without compromising the effect.

Tip 2: When designing inground Eclipse, coordinate sizing and installation requirements with the paving and landscape contractors to ensure a cohesive end result. GI25/GI40 widths are fixed, but lengths can be customised to suit any paver size.

Due to the 45° shape of the extrusion, the Dual Rear Cable Entry for the GA27 will have the option of two cable entry points for each side, similar to the Dual Side Cable Entry.

What is ESD?

Electrostatic Discharge is the sudden “zap” or flow of electric current from a static charge. The human body can build up a significant static charge and appropriate grounding is required to eliminate this risk while handling LEDs. While the electrostatic discharge is harmless to humans, it can cause irreparable and often unseen damage to LED components.
