THE POWER OF THE DREAM - CELINE DIONDeep within each heartThere lies a magic spark

That lights the fire of our imaginationAnd since the dawn of manThe strength of just “I can”

Has brought together people of all nations

There’s nothing ordinaryIn the living of each day

There’s a special partEvery one of us will play

Feel the flame forever burnTeaching lessons we must learn

To bring us closer to the power of the dreamAs the world gives us its best

To stand apart from all the restIt is the power of the dream that brings us here

Your mind will take you farThe rest is just pure heart

You’ll find your fate is all your own creationAnd every boy and girl

As they come into this worldThey bring the gift of hope and inspiration

(Refrain)

There’s so much strength in all of usEvery woman child and man

It’s the moment that you think you can’tYou’ll discover that you can

(Refrain x2)

To realize the power of the dreamTo realize the power of the dream

ECHO 306

Seven gentlemen joined a fantastic team to experience the joy of ECHO 306 forming a very strong brotherhood the men so nicely shared about at the closing and new candidates’ nights. Please welcome these young men to the community at reunions in the coming weeks.

It was wonderful to see so many of the team and candidates from ECHO 305 in the palanca room serving as members of the palanca army and sharing their ECHO joy.

ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONSOn Thursday, December 15th, ECHO will onceagain be hosting the “Gifts for Jesus” prayerservice where members of the community areasked to bring kids’ pajamas and a book if theyare able to to support Catholic Charities andlocal children at Christmas. More details in the flyer included here.

The week before Christmas, there will be noTuesday reunion on December 20th. Instead,Tuesday reunion will combine with Thursdayreunion on December 22nd at 7pm at OurLady of Victory for one large ECHO Christmascelebration! If you are participating in ECHOSecret Santa, you should bring your gift, valuedat $10 or under, that night to give to your Secret Santa. Feel free to send notes or clues tothem in advance, and keep them in yourprayers during the Advent season!

Even if you don’t have an ECHO Secret Santa, we welcome everyone on the 22nd, old ECHO friends and new, as well as any family members and friends who may be visiting for the holidays. Everyone will receive an ECHO Christmas gift to go home with. Join us for one big ECHO celebration all in honor of Jesus’ birth!

PRAYERSMany years ago the custom began of designating each Tuesday as ECHO Prayer Day to serve as a special reminder to all of us to pray for each other and the ECHO program. If you would like to request prayers for anyone, feel free to send a prayer request to the ECHO community by e-mailing [email protected].

We ask prayers for: Julie Byrne, Linda Chapman, Deacon Richard Dresser, James Kelley, Liam O’Keefe-Hoeck, Dorothy Parsons, and Annemarie Souza. For Matthew Laird and Bill O’Donnell as they prepare for the priesthood, Keith Caldwell as he prepares for the diaconate, and Andrew Harmon as he studies for his Masters in Belgium. For everyone affected by Hurricane Matthew, especially our friends in Haiti. For peace and understanding in our divided country. For Cathy Carpenter as she prepares for ECHO 307, Barbara-Anne Foley as she discerns for ECHO 308, John Cabral as he discerns for ECHO 309, and lastly anyone who has no one to pray for them.

THANKSGIVING REUNION: WOW!

A reliable source (John Cabral) counted 78 people that packed the reunion classroom at Christ the King for Thanksgiving reunion. WOW! If that doesn’t show joy, what does? We remind everyone that they’re always welcome at a reunion regardless of how long it has been since you’ve been on a weekend or come to a reunion.

Join us to share faith, fellowship, and friendship:Tuesdays at 7pm at Christ the King in Mashpee led by Dave and Cheryl RyanThursdays at 7pm at Our Lady of Victory in Centerville led by Jeremy Cadrin and Tim Acton

Please note the time of Thursday reunions, a half hour earlier than prior years. If you arrive at a Thursday reunion to find a locked door, please ring the bell to the right of the door, and someone will come unlock it.
