General Information

COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe program seeks to address competence in using multiple echocardiographic techniques in assessment of cardiac structure and function in adult acquired or congenital heart disease. This will include concise, clinically relevant didactic lectures followed by a series of illustrative cases which will include audience response and discussion presented by echocardiography specialists which would lead to enhanced patient management. Workshops will be held to demonstrate the techniques for acquiring the echocardiographic data, especially with respect to new contemporary techniques such as strain imaging.

In addition, audience participants are welcome to bring case(s) to share and discuss with the faculty and audience on Sunday morning. Note, all patient identifiers must be removed from your modality.

TEACHING MATERIALS/SYLLABUSAttendees will be provided with a memory stick containing course materials and are welcome to bring a laptop computer during the learning sessions. No paper syllabus will be provided.

INTENDED AUDIENCE

This course is intended for adult and congenital cardiologists, cardiology fellows, and cardiac sonographers who have basic experience and knowledge in echocardiography. This course is also intended for other medical specialists, internists, surgeons and anesthesiologists working to further their experience in clinical application of echocardiography.

CREDITCollege of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
