EAWLoudspeakerUSBDriverInstallationforWindows703‐31‐2011This document describes the one‐time installation in Windows 7 of the USB drivers for the following
EAW loudspeakers: NTL720, NTS250, JF26NT, JF56NT, JF29NT, JF59NT, KF200NT, KF364NT, and
KF394NT.
The first time the EAW loudspeaker is connected to the PC via USB, Windows7 will try to install default
drivers.
Since it cannot find the drivers, as expected, the automatic installation will fail and report:
Click the Windows Start button in the lower left corner.
Select Control Panel. The following dialog appears.

Then select “Hardware and Sound”
Next, select “Devices and Printers”

The EAW Speaker appears in the bottom of the Window. Double‐click on the speaker to bring up its
properties.
Select the Hardware tab

Click “Properties”
Then click “Change settings”

Click “Update Driver”
Click “Browse my computer for driver software”
Browse to the driver install directory, which is: C:\Program Files (x86)\EAW\Data\FTDI\NTL720

Click “Next.” Click the Install anyway button as warning dialog appears.
The install will complete, and if successful, the exclamation point should be removed from EAW Speaker.

Likewise, Device Manager will report the loudspeaker as an enumerated COM port.

Note: Under some conditions, it may be necessary to repeat this entire procedure twice, if the driver is
not successfully loaded. In this case, before repeating the procedure, unplug the USB cable from the PC,
wait a moment, re‐plug in cable and repeat the procedure.
