On behalf of the GPS Rugby Club I extend a warm welcome to the Easts Tigers players, supporters and officials for this round six clash at Yoku Road. Always fiercely contested the recent history of games between our two clubs have been legendary, and in particular in the 2013 Hospital Cup grand final.

The Gallopers come off a great day last week which highlighted the great community that is GPS. From the solemn ceremony to remember the fallen through to the memorable main game punctuated by the U8’s half time entertainment, it was truly a great day. Most teams have now registered wins for the season and while our goal of a Doughty Shield top three may appear ambitious I urge all players to continue working hard and enjoy your rugby.

The annual Gallopers Pre Test luncheon is coming up on June 3 at City Hall. With the national coach and captain as two of our special guests it is a day not be missed by all rugby fans. It is also a great day for businesses to invite their customers and clients and be thoroughly entertained by our other guests, Greg Martin and Damien Fleming.

We are also launching our appeal for Boots for Fiji shortly. We aim to provide 200 pairs of rugby boots to the Fijian community. Our club has in the past joined with many others to donate excess stock to the rugby family in the South Pacific region, something we hope to continue doing for many years to come.

Finally I urge all of you to join our club as members. It is a great way to show support and a great way for the club to provide a donation of substance to the Buy a Bale campaign to assist all our rural friends who are in need.

At our next home game we will celebrate Ladies Day. The event is sold out however if you are wanting to come along please contact us by phone or email and we will assist where we can.We hope you enjoy your day with the Gallopers.
