The Eastern Ontario CBS ministry team looks back on 2013
and forward into 2014 with praise to the Lord for new oppor-
tunities for collaboration among area churches and mini-
stries.
Welcome C2C-Hub!
We are pleased to announce that the downtown Ottawa
Bible House through the ‘death’ of the bookstore has revived
with new life, new partnerships, and amazing networking
opportunities. The C2C church planting network has set up a
ministry hub on the main floor to act as collaboration space
to serve church planters and various ministries in the region.
It is turning out to be a lively place where ministries cross-
-breed, new networks are developed and the growth of God’s
Kingdom in Ottawa is induced. A blessed place indeed!
Campus Ministries
We’re also encouraged by what’s happening on Ottawa’s
post-secondary campuses- Carleton U, Ottawa U, Algonquin
College and Cité Collegiale. The engagement and cooperation
of various campus clubs and churches has opened the door
to the proclamation of the gospel through various events and
relationships.
CBS is particularly pleased to have established a partnership
with the Campus Ministry at Algonquin College, which is
part of the Spiritual Centre, overlooking the main gathering
place in the Students Commons building. Through a display
in the lobby of the Centre we provide Bibles and Lifewords
Scripture resources which serve student Bible studies, discus-
sion groups and chaplaincy counselling. The Word of God
is being sown and we are eager to continue developing our
relationships with campus ministries!

Friends for Dinner
CBS is in our second year of partnership with Friends for
Dinner in Ottawa. FFD helps join international students with
Christian families for Christmas dinner. Instead of being
isolated during the holidays these students get to celebrate
in the homes of local families and better understand our
culture and faith while discovering the true meaning of
Christmas. CBS makes available Word of Welcome Bibles for
the host families to share with the visiting student. Over 100
have now been distributed and the feedback from students
has been overwhelmingly positive for these experiences!
Online Fun and Bible Engagement!
And finally 2014 is shaping up to be an exciting year for kids
Bible engagement! Standing out among some great new
resources on the horizon is Incredible Islands, a new online
game that CBS will be rolling out in partnership with One
Hope. This local church-driven digital resource will help kid’s
ministries and Sunday Schools engage and inspire kids thro-
ughout the week in a very entertaining way! Keep up to date
and find out more in the coming months!
Together we praise the Lord!
