About the Motorsport AcademyThe Motorsport Academy was started in 2014 by Course Director Munir Caine and Operations Director Geoff Deacon, who between them have more than 30 years’ professional experience in motorsport. Motorsport Academy course tutors include experienced professionals from the highest levels of motorsport including Darren Turner and Gerry Convy.
Geoff Deacon has been involved for many years in developing young drivers’ careers and nurturing racing talent, including DTM driver Jamie Green. He is the owner of the Motorsport Academy’s outdoor circuit in Leicestershire.
Munir Caine started racing karts in Switzerland at the age of 13 and has been professionally involved in motorsport since he started working in Formula 1 in 2000, as Head of PR and Publicity for Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines. His career has taken him all over the world and given him the opportunity of working with many well known figures in the world of Formula 1.
Darren Turner is a double Le Mans winner, ex-Formula 1 test driver with McLaren Mercedes and currently races for Aston Martin in the GTLM class. He has driven in several racing categories and has extensive experience behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car.

The CircuitThere is no substitute for track time behind the wheel of a racing kart.
The Motorsport Academy classrooms are based near Broughton Astley, in Leicestershire, at one of the country’s leading outdoor karting circuits, only a few miles from Brooke House College and less than 40 miles from Silverstone, the home of British motorsport.
This purpose-built 600m track offers a highly technical challenge to even the most experienced racers.
All students will complete approximately 750 laps on track during the course of the week.
Each driver’s progress will be monitored, and advice given to help develop each student’s skills and natural abilities.
Students will learn the importance of optimum set-up to get the most out of their racing car, as well as themselves.
All equipment is provided for the duration of the course, including Motorsport Academy team clothing and racesuit for drivers to keep.
The week at the circuit will conclude with a full Race Day starting with practice sessions and qualifying in the morning, followed by an afternoon’s racing.
There will be a formal driver awards dinner on the Friday evening.
