School Leaders receiving their Education Week Awards
OUTSTANDING ATHLETICS CARNIVAL In what was a beautiful winter’s day, Griffith East held a terrific athletics carnival. School spirit, community and good clean competition were showcased and we are very proud of all involved. To our parents, thank you for joining us and supporting as a carnival helper, in the canteen and for being great role-models for our students. Students, thank you! Your attitude, positive participation and willingness to cheer each other on ensured we all had a brilliant day.
To Christine Maloney of Little A's, thank you for your assistance at the carnival. Your expertise and timing gate knowledge were invaluable to our successful day. Mrs Malone, you are a gem, your many hours spent in preparation for our new computer software was well worth it - thank you for your tireless work.
Our winning house, individual champions and any remaining ribbons will be presented at this Thursday’s 3-6 assembly.

Congratulations to Ruby O’Connor and Christian Callcut on winning the final events of the day, our ‘Invitationals’, which pits the day’s eight fastest female and male runners against each other. These were certainly great races!
Congratulations to Christian Callcut who broke both a Long Jump and a High Jump record. Christian broke Jake Fattore’s Long Jump record, setting a new mark of 5.17m, and Dylan Hulm’s High Jump record from 2007 by a massive 9cm. Christian will be hard pressed to beat in the record stakes. He finishes our 2019 athletics carnival holding 7 individual records, including all Long Jump and High Jump records on offer, and the 10 Years Boys 100m sprint. Many congratulations! Let’s hope they last for a long time to come. Zone Athletics Carnival: Thursday 15th of August
