I WILL SING OF MY REDEEMERHYFRYDOL

AFFIRMATION OF FAITHTHE STORYLINE OF GRACELEADER: In the beginning, God created the world and lived in lovingrelationship with man. But man wanted to live his own way. He rebelled, turning away from God and His goodness - severing the relationship by sin. This sinfulness has been passed down to us. Unable to change our hearts,we are not compatible with God’s holiness and cut of from Him.We are unable to enjoy God and live the full life He intended.

CONGREGATION: But God so loved the world that He sent His Son. Torestore the relationship, Jesus took the punishment our sins deservefor us - on the cross. This removes the barrier of our sin, and opens theway to relationship with God. Our own attempts to gain thisrelationship – always fall short of God’s glory.

LEADER: Those who place their trust in what Christ has done on our behalf areforgiven and made new. They immediately gain a relationship with God thatlasts forever. This is the gospel.

CONGREGATION: We will serve God together as His Church.By the Holy Spirit’s power, we will live in peace, worship with joy, andproclaim the gospel, bringing salvation and community to people andpositive change to the world.

LEADER: And we will live with God forever in the world to come.

THE CONGREGATIONAL PRAYERS FOR COMMUNION PREPARATION

PURITAN PRAYER FROM VALLEY OF VISIONBlessed Lord Jesus, before thy cross I kneel and see

the heinousness of my sin,my iniquity that caused thee to be ‘made a curse’, the evil that excites the severity of divine wrath.

Show me the enormity of my guilt bythe crown of thorns, the pierced hands and feet,

the bruised body, the dying cries.

Thy blood is the blood of incarnate God,its worth infinite, its value beyond all thought.

Infinite must be the evil and guilt that demands such a price.

From all that dwell below the skies,Let the Creator’s praise arise!

Let the Redeemer’s name be sungThro’ ev’ry land, by ev’ry tongue.

Eternal are Thy mercies Lord;Eternal truth attends Thy Word.

Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore‘Til suns shall rise and set no more.

COME BEHOLD THE WONDROUS MYSTERYMATT PAPA

Come behold the wondrous myst’ryIn the dawning of the King

He the theme of heaven’s praisesRobed in frail humanity

In our longing in our darknessNow the light of life has come

Look to Christ who condescendedTook on flesh to ransom us

Come behold the wondrous myst’ry

He the perfect Son of ManIn His living in His suff’ring, never trace nor stain of sin

See the true and better AdamCome to save the hellbound man

Christ the great and sure fulfillmentOf the law in Him we stand

Come behold the wondrous myst’ry

Christ the Lord upon the treeIn the stead of ruined sinners

Hangs the Lamb in victorySee the price of our redemption

See the Father’s plan unfoldBringing many sons to Glory

Grace unmeasured love untold

Come behold the wondrous myst’rySlain by death the God of life

But no grave could e’er restrain HimPraise the Lord He is alive

What a foretaste of deliv’ranceHow unwavering our hopeChrist in power resurrected

As will we be when He comes

CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNSDIADEMATA

Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne.Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.

Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee,And hail him as thy matchless king through all eternity.

Crown Him the Lord of Life! who triumphed o’er the grave;Who rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.

His glories now we sing, who died and rose on high;Who died, eternal life to bring and lives that death may die.

THE CALL TO WORSHIP

Biblical worship is always a response to

God’s gracious revelation of himself

to his people.

Hence, our worship services begin with a scriptural “call to

worship” (that is, the content of the “call” comes from God’s own Word quoted by the leader and the congregation,

or a hymn or song beseeching God to

help us long for Him in worship).

In this “call” we are reminded that God

always takes the initiative.

He always comes toward his people

first, in grace.

Our worship is a reflexive and deliber-

ate response to his gracious call.

We are promised that when we worship

him correctly, he is glorified and the dis-locations of our lives

are healed.

From all that dwell below the skies... let us come behold the wondrous mystery!

Come and worship!

The Church in Corporate Worship AUGUST 04, 2019

As we gather in corporate worship this day, we celebrate the hope that is ours

displayed through the The Lord’s Supper. Let us offer grateful praise for the grace and peace of the table

and express back to Christ our love for His sacrifice for us.

REFLECTION THOUGHTS FOR WORSHIP PREPARATION

The formal object of faith is the Divine Promises, it is not the things promised in the first place, but God Himself in His essential excellencies, of truth, or faithfulness and power. -- John Owen

Hark, the glad sound! the Savior comes, The Savior promised long; Let every heart prepare a throne, And every voice a song. On Him the Spirit, largely poured, Exerts His sacred fire; Wisdom and might, and zeal and love, His holy breast inspire. He comes the prisoners to release, In Satan’s bondage held; The gates of brass before Him burst, The iron fetters yield. He comes the broken heart to bind, The bleeding soul to cure; And with the treasures of His grace To enrich the humble poor. Our glad hosannas, Prince of Peace, Thy welcome shall proclaim; And Heav’n’s eternal arches ring With Thy belovèd Name. -- Phillip Doddridge

The work which His goodness began, the arm of His strength will complete; His promise is Yea and Amen, and never was forfeited yet. Things future, nor things that are now, nor all things below or above, Can make Him His purpose forgo, or sever my soul from His love. -- Augustus Toplady

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. -- Galatians 3:13-14

This, the pow’r of the cross: Christ became sin for us; Took the blame, bore the wrath— We stand forgiven at the cross. -- Keith Getty and Stuart Townend

Please use the following prayer to

prepare your hearts for worship:

GOD OF AMAZING

LOVE... we are thankful

that your mercy is higher than

the heavens, wider than our

wanderings,deeper than

all our sin.

Forgive our frivolousattitude toward life,

our callousness toward suffering, our envy of those

who have more than we have,

our obsession with creating a life of

constant pleasure, our indifference

to the treasures of heaven, our neglect

of your wise and gracious law.

Help us to live in thejoy of repentance,to change our way

of life, so that we may desire what is

good, love what you love, and do what

you command,through Jesus Christ

our Lord.

Amen.

He sur vived the in i tial crash, but was killed try ing
