DEPUTIES OF THE MONTH

Deputy Jordan Manchester has been named the Corrections Deputy of the Month. Deputy Manchester was hired by the Parish Prison in January of 2011. Deputy Manchester‟s atten-tion to detail and determination to put security first prevented a threat to security from devel-oping into something more deadly. Manchester noticed abnormal behavior between an in-mate and a member of the prison medical staff. He questioned those involved and confiscat-ed a note, which revealed an inappropriate relationship between the two. His actions al-lowed administration to eliminate someone who could have placed all staff in danger, or cir-cumvented EBRSO security procedure from the inside .

Lieutenant Darryl Armentor, of the Maritime Division, has been named Detective and Special Operations Deputy of the Month. Lieutenant Armentor was hired by the EBRSO in October of 2003. He wears many hats within the EBRSO organization in-cluding Commander of Marine Search and Rescue Division, the overseer of the Joint Task Force 7 Plus One, and a Firearms Instructor at the Range. He assists other agencies and plays a vital role in formulating and structuring plans for public safety regarding events in and around major waterways from Point Coupee Parish to Orle-ans Parish. Lt. Armentor has gained the respect of his peers by working as a team member and going above and beyond this scope of his duties on a regular basis.

Deputy John Roberts, of the Scotlandville Substation, has been named the Uniform Patrol Deputy of the Month. Deputy Roberts was hired in October of 2007 in Communications and transferred to Uniform Patrol in 2010. From the beginning, Deputy Roberts has taken his position within Uniform Patrol very seriously. So far this year, he has conducted 261 field interviews. One of which assisted the BRPD in identifying suspects in a robbery case

Sergeant Michael Zachary, of the K-9 Division, has been named the Administrative and Sup-port Services Deputy of the Month. Sergeant Zachary was rehired by the EBRSO in July of 2006. He joined the K-9 Division in January of 2009. On April 30, 2014, Sergeant Zachary and his partner K-9 “Grimm” participated in the search for a suspect who had been burglariz-ing vehicles in the Coursey Blvd. area. Sergeant Zachary eventually located the suspect within the search area, detained him, and turned him over to Detectives for processing.

Amanda Oliveaux, of the Finance and Budget Division, has been name the Civil Dep-uty of the Month. Mrs. Oliveaux was hired in June of 2008. Amanda oversees the EBRSO $85 million budget and assures both proper financial management of the Sheriff‟s Office compliance with all applicable state laws pertaining to budgeting. Her timely review of the budget and quick action to address shortfalls or overages has directly contributed to the budget surplus. Amanda always displays a team-first atti-tude in the Civil Division and is an invaluable member of the Finance and Budget De-partment.

Sheriff Gautreaux attended the 56th An-nual Greenwell Springs Youth Riders Ro-deo at Shady Park in Central .The Green-well Springs Youth Riders is a non-profit,

private club for kids from 7 – 17 years old. The Youth Riders teach kids about horsemanship, teamwork, and responsi-

bility. Sgt. Patricia Carr of DARE spoke to children about Safety, Capt. Randy

Aguillard of DARE spoke to kids at the Youth Peace Rally about DARE and

deputies participate at the Special Olympics.
