the Hayward Fault - 31%• Second Highest is the San
Andreas Fault - 21%

Earthquake by USGS• Loma Prieta (Oct. 17, 1989) – 6.9 Magnitude
• 63 Deaths, 3700 Injuries, and >$6 Billion in Damages
• Northridge (1994) – 6.7 Magnitude• 20 Deaths and $20 Billion in Damages

• At 1111 Franklin Street and the Kaiser Building• PA System will Announce “Earthquake Drill”• UCOP Staff will “Drop! Cover! Hold On!”
• Other UCOP Sites at Leased Facilities• Floor Wardens and/or Department Safety
Officers will Announce “Earthquake Drill”• UCOP Staff will “Drop! Cover! Hold On!”

• DROP to the Ground (Before the Earthquake Drops You!),
• Take COVER by Getting Under a Sturdy Desk or Table, and
• HOLD ON to it Until the Shaking Stops

• If No Desk or Table Near You• Cover Face & Head with Arms and
Crouch in a Corner of Room• Do Not Run To Another Room to Find a
Table• Seek to Immediately Protect Yourself
• Earthquakes Occur Violently without Warning – You Would Likely Be Knocked to the Ground
• More Likely to Be Injured By Falling/Flying Objects
