MHA’s advisory to all States

• Review and amend building byelaws• In Municipal areas, all building plans to be

submitted by architects and certified by a structural engineer (who will be responsible for code compliance)

• Evaluate seismic safety of existing life-line buildings and initialize retrofitting process

• Mandate for retrofitting of private hospitals, office and shopping complexes

• Carry out awareness generation campaigns
