Ed Mazria and the non-profit Architecture 2030 organization are working to rapidly transform the US and global Building Sector from the major contributor of greenhouse gas emissions to a central part of the solution to the global-warming crisis. 1:00-4:30 Green Building and LEED This workshop will present an introduction to and history of Green Building. The U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED rating systems for New Construction, Existing Buildings, and Commercial interiors will be reviewed through case studies and implementation strategies. Federal green building requirements and tools, including energy modeling and Energy Star Portfolio manager will also be addressed. 1:00 – 2:30 Greening Your Life Workshop Learn how to become a greener, more sustainable individual with energy, water and material saving advice that is practical and easy to adopt.
