If your budget runs to it,a foreign trip could be in

order. The volcanic Port -uguese island of Madeira,in the Atlantic Ocean nearthe Canary Island, isfamed for its lush gardens,mild climate and fantasticfood.

Visitors can walk alongthe island’s levadas, theirrigation system built toget water from one side ofthe island to the other,

with the gently slopingwalks featuring stunningviews and dotted alongeach route are delightfultea houses.

For the daredevil there'sa chance to take a sleighride down the narrow,steep streets of Monte.

No visit to Madeirawould be complete with-out a visit to a wine lodgeto try some Madeira winefor yourself or to the busymarket in the island’s cap-ital, Funchal.

For a proper beach holi-day though, a trip to

Mauritius is the stuff ofdreams. An island para-dise sheltered by coralreefs, it sits in the IndianOcean, with a climate ofbetween 22 degrees Cel -sius in the winter and 34

degrees in the summer.Visitors can relax on

the beautiful sandybeaches or try their handat deep sea fishing formarlin, tuna or shark.
